Attending a 2nd cousins funeral this week, 39 yr old Gulf War Veteran, a couple of groups showed for the service. Something unexpected, one 2nd cousin contacted a Veteran group and arranged a motorcycle escort, along with the normal VFW participation, I applaud all the Vets that came to the service, especially for those not even knowing him. One thing I dont necessarily see as appropriate is the dismissal after the salute, personally I would still stand guard till the service is complete, its only a few more minutes, instead of picking up everything and leaving while the service continues.
Would you feel its appropriate and/or expect one to wait it out, weather permitting?
