I was cleaning out some files and came across a poem I did several weeks back....I used to write poetry all the time, but it seems I don't get around to it as often nowdays. I probably should, I've been recognized in several publications, won a few awards, been published on occasion, and even won an Editor's choice award last year...blah blah blah, lol. Just thought I'd share some of it now and then with those of ya that like such things.
SADLY, ALONE
The days and nights go slowly by
And I yearn for love so much...
The feel of arms around me,
A kiss, or gentle touch.
No matter where I look it seems
There just is no one there
To warm my nights and dreams...
No one at all to care.
I pray, and ask why this is...
What purpose does it serve
For me to be lonely like this,
Then wonder if God heard.
I know he did, I'm just afraid
The answer's what I've anticipated...
That for now, I'll just have to stay
Alone...no matter how long I've waited.
