Hmmmmm.... I dunno lets see what I got here. I work a sometimes interesting job, which usually the only times it gets interesting is when the woods are on fire and someone is needing help. Got asked by my District Manager last year during a wildfire how I could stay so calm, my reply was " Heck Gary it's easy since I ain't got anyone shooting at me". I have a Daughter who is about to graduate from High School, which means I am getting kinda old now. Guess having an 18 yo kid can do that. I really love my daughter and wish that I was able to do things differently than they turned out but we can't so we just have to make the best of what we have. I spent 6 years active duty in the Marines and that has changed my outlook towards a lot of things. Hmm reckon folks trying to kill you can do that. I wished I could have stayed in but budget cuts by Congress got us, they thought it was a smart thing to get rid of the NCO's after Desert Storm. I have been married twice and still haven't got

Ok well it has been over a month since I joined this site. Not a bad site at all. Nice really. So a little about me, well lets see. I think I am a pretty straight forward guy. I tell it like I see it, but can also do that nicely or heavy handed if needed. I tend to be a bit shy until I have gotten used to you, then I once that happens I am a devoted friend. I enjoy all kinds of sports, I root for the home team, hey you live there you got to support where you live. I play softball in the summer and I bowl in the winter. My interest vary and touch on many things. I really enjoy NASCAR and try going to at least one race a year. This year I was lucky, was able to go to Richmond and Atlanta. Guess I can add more later. Hello I am old enough that is why I did not add an age. I love all animals(no not in that way)and am a sucker for homeless large breed dogs. I have had many jobs mostly in bar management.Which is strange as I have a couple nursing degrees. It didn't take me long to figure out I was not nurse material. I have lived in many states and love to travel. I enjoy the north western states the most.I prefer the colder climates as I love to ski and found that that is the only redeeming feature about Utah(the great skiing). I was retired once, after eight years in the Marines and 14 in the Army. It lasted long enough for the first set of monthly bills to arrive. I started writing family novels for a while. After one published novel I grew disgusted with the exclusivity of the publishing industry and shelved my remaining novels on disc. Now I own and operate an auto repair service to supplement my retirement pay. I wonder if anyone ever really retires. I enjoy reading, especially SciFi, and solitude is welcome relief. Nature facinates me and animals are my friends. I watch movies in a limited sense, mostly SciFi and light stuff like family or animated features. I believe "common sense" is a myth.
