When I was in the 8th grade I basically stopped sleeping. Nobody ever believes me when I say this, but by the time I was in college I would stay awake for 5 days in a row. The medical community ran more tests on me than I care to talk about and came up blank. I started reading books about sleep to try to understand myself a little better. One of the books I read suggested doing something relaxing like origami before going to bed to get my mind off of things. It seemed like a good idea so I bought my first origami book. To make a long story short, instead of sleeping, I mastered origami. Many years later Im sitting in HiTone in Memphis with a friend and the band we were there to see was missing the drummer.
