By RYAN HAMMILL The Orange County Register ..:NAMESPACE PREFIX = CCI />..:NAMESPACE PREFIX = CCI />HESPERIA– A Lake Forest man died Sunday from injuries suffered in a single-car accident along the shoulder of the northbound Mohave (I-15) Freeway near Hesperia late Saturday night. Jomer Joseph Aspili Baguinon Jr., 19, was ejected from the rear-passenger seat of a 2004 Nissan Sentra after the car veered off the freeway before crashing into a concrete barrier at the foot of an embankment, California Highway Patrol officer Robert Grieve said. Baguinon was transported by helicopter to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, where he died from blunt-force trauma to the skull at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, San Bernardino County coroner's reports said. The male driver, 16, said he was cut off by a vehicle before leaving the freeway near the shoulder around the 29.2-mile marker at around 10:15 p.m., but there's no evidence to prove his claim, Grieve said. After continuing down the embankment at an unknown speed, the sedan struck a concrete manhole cover, flipped and ejected Baguinon from the vehicle. Baguinon was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, CHP officials said. The driver, a Los Angeles resident, was also transported to Arrowhead Regional for treatment of unspecified injuries, CHP officials said. No arrests have been made in connection with the crash.
