for i have lost a very loved one in my life last night at 11pm who passed away to be with the great creator.my niece died last night who was 27yrs old.for i have both of my parents who are terminally ill and am worried very much about there health due to this great lose in our family..for i know you are not here this is for you.don't stand by my grave and weepfor i am not there i do not sleep i am a thousand winds that blow i am the diamonds glint on snow i am the sunlight on ripened grain i am the autumns rain.when you awaken in mornings hush i am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circle flight i am the soft stars that shine at night do not stand by my grave and cry i am not there i did not die.THE AMERICAN INDIAN PRAYER OH GREAT SPIRIT,WHOSE VOICE I HEAR IN THE WINDS,AND WHOSE BREATH GIVES LIFE TO ALL THE WORLD-HEAR ME-I COME BEFORE YOU,ONE OF YOUR CHILDREN.I AM SMALL AND WEAK.I NEED YOUR STRENGTH AND WISDOM.LET ME WALK IN BEAUTY AND MAKE MY EYES EVER BEHOLD THE RED AND PURPLE SUNSET.MAKE MY HANDS RESPECT THE THINGS YOUR HANDS HAVE MADE,MY EARS SHARP TO HEAR YOUR VOICE.MAKE ME WISE,SO THAT I MAY KNOW THE THINGS YOU HAVE TAUGHT MY PEOPLE,THE LESSON YOU HAVE HIDDEN IN EVERY LEAF AND ROCK.I SEEK STRENGTH NOT TO BE SUPERIOR TO MY BROTHERS,BUT TO BE ABLE TO FIGHT MY GREATEST ENEMY,MYSELF.MAKE ME EVER READY TO COME TO YOU,WITH CLEAN HANDS AND STRAIGHT EYES,SO WHEN LIFE FADES AS A FADING SUNSET,MY SPIRIT MAY COME TO YOU WITHOUT SHAME.
