It feels so good to hear those words, President Elect Barack Obama. I am beside myself with relief and joy.
We finally have a president who cares not of his own agendas, but of the American people. Who cares about the working class people who struggle to keep a roof under out heads. Who cares about real change and believes that this country can overcome anything. And of course, history has been made. We have our very first black President. AAnd not only that, but I have hope that he will be a great President. He will restore the faith in this country and help to pull us out of the downward spiral that Bush put us in.
All I ask of President Obama is that he remember those of us who elected him. He remember not only the wealthy, but the poor who despite our financial troubles, contributed to his campaign. That he always remember us when he is in the White House. And that he be the President we all hope he will be.
For the first time in 8 long years, I am proud to be an American. I am proud of this country and what it can accomplish. I am proud to say the name President Obama.
