Too much time has been wasted in the pursuit of happiness. Along the way there have been great people who have advanced my search. Then there are people that stink of misery. Of course what isn't initially noticed is what brand of misery it is. There is legit misery. Then there is self created misery.
The sufferers of this misery are those that I have an issue with.
I have met people who enjoy their own self inflicted misery so much that they wallow in it for sheer laziness. After all what would be the point of attempting to change?
There are people in my life who are miserable because they so embittered. The world owes them something and they will destroy any and all who come near them to get what they have coming to them. They never seem to see that what they have coming to them is the misery they have put out into the world.
The most disillusioned people are the liars and thieves. They are drowning in their own lies. They've told so many lies they begin to believe them. These "people" try to convince the world that they have been done some heinous wrong. And that they are so downtrodden because of this.
But this is the best con of all. Because once you've been reeled in by the first lie you are sunk. You have become prey to the predator. They feed on your positivity. They feast upon your generosity. All the while filling your soul with venom. You won't see it till they have used you up. Then it hits you. You can't look anywhere with out seeing some part of the soul death they have filled you with.
You are now excruciatingly changed. Painfully reminded each moment by how easily you were trapped. You could become like them. Or rise above.
Cut ties, heal, and rise above.
The phoenix dies again in the embers of loss. Only to be reborn stronger, wiser, and guarded. Soaring once more
