You amaze me. So many ways Every day. You amaze me. The way you show respect The way you are with the girls The sound of your voice and How it makes me smile. You amaze me. The way I long to feel your arms The way my skin longs for your touch The smile that never seems to end You amaze me You keep your word You are thoughtful and giving You amaze me So many ways Every day You amaze me 080908 Candi Fox

Dark

Dark and deep and ever sinking. Torn and tattered it's ceased its beating. Broken, shattered and torn apart. Blood splattered everywhere, life empty and filled with despair. Hope gone, Light dim. Darkness grows never ceasing, the candle light flickers and begins to fade. Love is just a fable and not for the faint of heart, only jump in if you want to be scattered to the four winds. Its worse than a vampire they just suck your blood , love takes your soul and rips it apart. No its not for the feint of heart. Maybe if you are among the living dead and your heart stopped beating long ago, it might be safe to give it a try. I would say good luck, but you will need more than that. A miracle to start and a whole lot more to see it to its end. Close your eyes and let the darkness takeyou. Better not to feel, then to live this way. Candi Fox

Christmas Soldier

CHRISTMAS SOLDIER The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light, I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight. My wife was asleep, her head on my chest, My daughter beside me, angelic in rest. Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white, transforming the yard to a winter delight. The sparkling lights in the tree I believe, completed the magic that was Christmas Eve. My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep, Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep. In perfect contentment, or so it would seem, So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream. The sound wasn't loud, and it wasn't too near, But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear. Perhaps just a cough, I didn't quite know, Then the sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow. My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear, And I crept to the door just to see who was near. Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night, a lone figure stood, his face weary and tight. A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old, Perhaps a Marine, huddled here in the cold. Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled, standing watch over me, and my wife and my child. "What are you doing?" I asked without fear, "Come in this moment, it's freezing out here! Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve, You should be at home on a cold Christmas Eve!" For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift, Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts. To the window that danced with a warm fire's light. Then he sighed and he said "Its really all right, I'm out here by choice. I'm here every night." "It's my duty to stand at the front of the line, That separates you from the darkest of times. No one had to ask or beg or implore me, I'm proud to stand here like my fathers before me. My Gramps died at 'Pearl on a day in December," Then he sighed, "That's a Christmas 'Gram always remembers." My dad stood his watch in the jungles of 'Nam', And now it is my turn and so, here I am. I've not seen my own son in more than a while, But my wife sends me pictures, he's sure got her smile. Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag, The red, white, and blue... an American flag. "I can live through the cold and the being alone, Away from my family, my house and my home. I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet, I can sleep in a foxhole with little to eat. I can carry the weight of killing another, Or lay down my life with my sister and brother. Who stand at the front against any and all, To ensure for all time that this flag will not fall." "So go back inside," he said, "harbor no fright, Your family is waiting and I'll be all right." "But isn't there something I can do, at the least, "Give you money," I asked, "or prepare you a feast?" It seems all too little for all that you've done, For being away from your wife and your son." Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret, "Just tell us you love us, and never forget. To fight for our rights back at home while we're gone, To stand your own watch, no matter how long. For when we come home, either standing or dead, To know you remember we fought and we bled. Is payment enough, and with that we will trust, That we mattered to you as you mattered to us. WE ALL NEED TO PRAY FOR OUR MILITARY PERSONNEL EVERY NIGHT AUTHOR UNKNOWN

Liberty

I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan." 1..) "The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those 'good ole boys,' We will never "interfere" again. 2..) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea, the Middle East, and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence. 3..) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of who or where they are.. They're illegal!!! France will welcome them. 4.) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit!!!!!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers. 5..) No foreign "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back home baby. 6..) The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing nonpolluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while. 7..) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go some place else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.) 8..) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not "interfere." They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or givento the army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything. 9..) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island some place. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens. 10.) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer. The Language we speak is ENGLISH.....learn it...or LEAVE..... Now, isn't that a winner of a plan? "The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying 'Give me your poor, your tired, your huddled masses.' She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, 'You want a piece of me?'" This has been creditted to Robin Williams. I am not sure if that is the case.

I AM

I am I am a piece of everything beautiful in the world this is why I am larger than you I am made of so many wondrous things you could never imagine sometimes, you pause to look at me deeply I am everything in my past My childhood house rests on my shoulders The neighbors' yards, no boundaries I am a Chinese maple tree, with stairs in its boughs I am those first stars I am the water fountain, outside that I made a wish in thirty minutes ago I am the portrait artist who tries to catch twinkles inside your eyes I am the wings of all the last breaths of flight I am the child skipping without reason I am a gentle newborn sigh I am the Virtuous Lion outside The New York Library I am the angel who pushes shadows out of harm's way I am the moon shimmering on the pond The stick the dog laps into its happy mouth I am the moment before two hands join So as for your comments: "Look at the Fat Girl," "You have such a pretty face, if only you would lose weight", "Such a face, gone to waste"... They reflect back to you... for I am a mirror among precious other things Yes, I am the fat girl and... "I am". "I Am" Written by Ali Marbel

In Memory of Kelly

For Kelly, It’s so hard to think I will never see you smile again. I will never hear you laugh again…. I remember growing up want to be just like you. You were so beautiful….. As the leaves fall from the trees, tears fall from my eyes. I wonder where you are. I wonder what you’re doing. I wonder if you look down from above and smile or laugh at something I say or do. I wonder what it like is to fly, with your new found angel wings. I see your oldest child, who is a mirror image of you at her age. Sometimes I reach out and gently pull one of the curls in her auburn hair. The boys miss you so much, they turned nine two weeks after fell asleep, forever. They share your fire for life. I wonder when the hurt will stop. I wonder if the tears will cease. I wonder …….if some one will read this and it will save their life
