Here are my 2009 NFL Week 6 picks and predictions. Let's focus on the week 6 matchup that everybody wants to talk about. Or should be talking about! The New York Giants are rolling into New Orleans with a perfect 5 0 record. Eli Manning has looked like one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL on a weekly basis. But so has Saints QB Drew Brees entering week 6. My picks and predictions will be tested deeply with this absolutely huge NFC showdown. It isn't easy picking a winner in this 2009 NFL tilt. New Orleans is also perfect at 4 0. Usually you would think homefield advantage or the team with the better defense would win. In that case, it would be a tie because New Orleans is home and the Giants defense is in Super Bowl shape. My picks and predictions for this week 6 battle? Flip a coin really on this one.

But I see 2 Eli Manning TD passes and the Giants blitz Brees over and over and over again. Brees gets some points on the board but not enough. It's a Giant victory 27 23 over the Saints.

My upset of the week in week 6 of the 2009 NFL season will take place out west! I am going to jump outside the Broncos box and predict San Diego will end the unbeaten start for Denver. The Broncos have proven me wrong before. But my pick is Chargers win 27 10. Kyle Orton and the lack of Denver offense finally proves too much for a tough Denver defense to overcome. Orton manages a good game normally. But not in this one. 2 picks and the Broncos fall from the ranks of the unbeaten. Philip Rivers is sharper than normal against an undefeated team during a nationally televised game.

Other 2009 NFL week 6 matchups? Cincinnati struggles with visiting Houston but manages to win in the end again 23 21. Cedric Benson rumbles for 115 years and Carson Palmer makes big plays when he needs to.

Green Bay pounds Detroit in week 6 Jerod Mayo Authentic Jersey by a 35 9 advantage. Aaron Rodgers puts up some great stats in the first three quarters before the Pack lets Ryan Grant top 100 yards against the lowly Lions.

Minnesota http://www.officialpatriotsonlineprostore.com/WOMENS-ROB-GRONKOWSKI-JERSEY.html hosts Baltimore in what could be a huge game for both teams. The Vikings somehow manage to pull out a win over the Ravens 27 24. Adrian Peterson with 1 touchdown or less against a stingy stack the line Ravens defense but Brett Favre and Chester Taylor hook up 2 times for scores. In other words, the Ravens need to watch the dump off passes to win in this one.

Pittsburgh is back on track and puts Cleveland back to reality with a 43 10 thumping. I'm being generous with the 10 points here and Devin McCourty Authentic Jersey figure some might come in garbage time or a big special teams play. Ben Roethlisberger only needs to play a half in this one. But he still plays three quarters much to the chagrin of NFL analysts everywhere. Steelers roll.

My 2009 NFL Week 6 picks and predictions continue with Carolina at Tampa Bay. The Panthers may have saved a sinking ship this past week and I look for them to pick up Devin McCourty Patriots Jersey a road win 17 13. DeAngelo Williams scores 2 TD's for the victors. One of which will be an 80 yard or more run.

Washington gets a much needed win over struggling Kansas City 23 6. Clinton Portis rumbles for 100 yards and 2 officialpatriotsonlineprostore.com/WOMENS-JULIAN-EDELMAN-JERSEY.html scores.

Seattle looked great somehow in week 5 but Arizona figures out a way to get a key road win 24 20. Kurt Warner shows some signs of the player he was last year with 3 touchdown passes. This game could easily go the Seahawks way if the Cardinals turn the ball over early.

Philadelphia pounds Oakland 33 12 on the road in week 6. Donovan McNabb gets an early breather as the Eagles build a huge first half lead. Michael Vick tosses a touchdown pass in half number two of a game Jerod Mayo Limited Jersey nobody cares about since Oakland is playing without any confidence right now.

Also in week 6 of the 2009 NFL season, New England outlasts Tennessee 27 13, the Jets cruise past Buffalo 19 3 and the Falcons hold off the Bears 28 24. Jay Cutler throws a key interception late as the Bears come back down to earth a bit. Matt Ryan is sharp once again in front of the home folks with 3 touchdown passes all to different receivers.

That's it for my 2009 NFL Week 6 picks and predictions. We'll do it again next week for week 7. That's a mouthful, isn't it?Specifically I write about sports, reality television, entertainment, hot t. View profile

INDIANAPOLIS It's common for NFL teams to try to disguise their off season plans in the buildup to free agency and the draft, but even Jim Caldwell can't hide the fact that the Detroit Lions need receivers.

Caldwell, the first year Lions coach, said at the NFL combine today that his team will take "a real strong look at" receivers this off Darius Butler Limited Jersey season, in an effort to finally find a reliable deep threat to pair with Calvin Johnson.

"He's one that's going to draw a little extra attention, in terms of double coverage, like he's always done," Caldwell said. "And with that being the case, we have to find a way to make certain whoever's on the other side that may be getting singled in some situations can do some damage against the defenders.

"I think that's extremely important, so I think that's something that, obviously, we've taken a good, hard look at and, one way or another, we're going to come up with a guy that's going to give us some balance in that area."

Aside from Johnson, the Lions don't have a receiver under contract who reached double digits in receptions last year.

Kris Durham is an exclusive rights free agent and almost certainly will be back, but Kevin Ogletree is an unrestricted free agent with a blurry future in Detroit, and the Lions released Nate Burleson in a cost cutting move last week.

Both the draft and free agency are brimming with receiver Darius Butler Jersey options this year, and the Lions almost certainly will add to the position in both stages of the off season.

With the 10th pick in the draft, they could consider the likes of Clemson's Sammy Watkins, Texas A Mike Evans and USC's Marqise Lee.

Offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi said at his introductory news conference this month that an ideal complement to Johnson would be "someone to work underneath," and that need appears more acute since Burleson's release.

The Lions saved about $9 million in cap space by cutting Burleson and safety Louis Delmas, and Caldwell indicated that it was difficult to see both veterans go.

"Obviously, those are two good men," he said. "When you Jerrell Freeman Jersey look at those two guys, just in terms of the leadership and those kinds of things, I could tell in the preparation to play them and then also just talking to the guys on the team that understand and realize the great contribution that they've made to the team overall.

"But we have to take a look at everything. Have to evaluate everything. Obviously, just in terms of our personnel office, our coaching, etc., and see where things fit, and www.coltsonlineprostore.com/WOMENS-ERIK-WALDEN-JERSEY.html we have to make some adjustments along the way. Not all of them are going to be pretty, and so obviously, that's kind of where we are today."

Delmas, who has a history of knee problems and practiced sparingly last year, reportedly visited the Pittsburgh Steelers after his Jerrell Freeman Womens Jersey release but still could return to the Lions.

"I think in this business you never say never," Caldwell said. "But we'll see what happens."

ANSAH SURGERY: Lions defensive end Ziggy Ansah underwent shoulder surgery earlier this month but is expected to be ready for the season, according to Fox Sports. Ansah had a team leading eight sacks last year, most among rookies.

Ansah was listed www.coltsonlineprostore.com/WOMENS-VONTAE-DAVIS-JERSEY.html on the Lions' end of week injury report just once last season with a shoulder injury, when he was questionable but played in a game against the Baltimore Ravens.

NOTE: Russ Bolinger, the former Lion who provided expert analysis on the team for the Free Press this past season, signed as a scout with the Atlanta Falcons.

Pete Rose waves to the crowd during the ceremony celebrating the 25th anniversary of his breaking the career hit record of 4,192 on September 11, 2010 at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, Ohio.(Photo: Andy Lyons/Getty Images)

Rose may be the second most famous lifetime ban in sports history. The Cincinnati native http://www.coltsonlineprostore.com/WOMENS-JERRELL-FREEMAN-JERSEY.html was ousted in 1989 after he was accused of betting on Reds games while serving as the team's manager. A three time World Series winner (with one MVP) and 17 time all star, Rose was also banned from ever being inducted into the Hall of Fame and is the only living member of the Hall's ineligible list. He denied the gambling allegations for years until he published an autobiography, "My Prison Without Bars," in 2004.

"Shoeless" Joe Jackson (Baseball Vontae Davis Womens Jersey Chicago White Sox)

"Shoeless" Joe Jackson is perhaps the most famous member of the infamous Chicago Black Sox, who were banned for life for fixing the 1919 baseball World Series. After testifying before a Cook County grand jury in 1920, a small boy reportedly tugged at Jackson's sleeve and pleaded the immortal line, "Say it ain't so Joe, say it ain't so!" To which Jackson replied, "Yes, kid, I'm afraid it is." "Well, I never would've thought it," the boy said.

Ben Johnson (Track and Field)

Ben Johnson was once hailed as the world's fastest man, setting records while repping the Canadian flag in the mid to late 1980s, even though he was born in Jamaica. But three days after winning the 100m final at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, Korea, he tested positive for a banned substance. A few months later a previous world record he set in 1987 was also declared invalid. Johnson made a tepid comeback, but after failing another drug test in 1993, the International Association of Athletics Federations, which governs track and field, banned him for life.

Tonya Harding (Figure www.coltsonlineprostore.com/WOMENS-DARIUS-BUTLER-JERSEY.html Skating)

Harding helped turn figure skating into a national obsession, but for all the wrong reasons. In January 1994 Harding's husband paid a "hitman" about $7,000 to literally whack rival Nancy Kerrigan on the knee. The move took Kerrigan out of the US Figure Skating Championships, but both women were selected for that year's Olympics in Norway that February. Fully recovered, Kerrigan won a silver medal while Harding did no better than eighth place. Figure Skating Association. Anti Doping Agency presented a trove of evidence against him. Technically Armstrong isn't just banned from cycling, but literally "any activity or competition organized by any signatory to the (USADA's) code or any member of any signatory."

Jack Molinas (Basketball Erik Walden Authentic Jersey Fort Wayne Pistons)

Molinas was one of the key figures in a point shaving scandal that crippled NCAA basketball in 1951. But the scandal didn't catch up to him until 1954, when he was playing for the NBA's Fort Wayne Pistons. When it was found that he bet on his own team, Columbia University (a powerhouse at the time), the NBA banned him for life. Twenty years later, Molinas, 43, was gunned down in an apparent mob hit over "several unpaid debts."

Steve Howe (Baseball Vontae Davis Colts Jersey LA Dodgers, NY Yankees, Minnesota Twins, Texas Rangers)

Howe spent 12 years in the Erik Walden Limited Jersey majors as a pitcher for the Dodgers and the Yankees, with small stints in between with the Twins and the Rangers. In 1992 he was banned for life for substance abuse mostly alcohol and cocaine. He was eventually reinstated after an appeal.

Dexter Manley (Football Washington Redskins)

Once called the "Secretary of Defense" and known as a "functional illiterate" for most of his career, Washington Redskins end Dexter Manley could never fully tackle his drug problems. After testing positive for cocaine on at least four different occasions over the course of about 4 years, in 1991 he was permanently banned from the National Football league. In 1983 he became the first player in 20 years to be suspended for betting on NFL games. After a 1987 arrest in New York City for involvement in an illegal sports betting operation, Commissioner Pete Rozelle refused to let him sign with another team. He was never reinstated and later filed for bankruptcy in 1988. He also played briefly for the CFL.

The NBA has had several players permanently banned for substance abuse issues. In 1995, Roy Tarpley, received a lifetime ban from the NBA over alcohol and drugs, and later he sued the NBA and the Mavericks for not reinstating him. Chris Washburn of the Atlanta Hawks was banned in 1989 after his third substance abuse relapse. In 1986, Atlanta Hawk John Drew was banned from the NBA for life after several violations of the league's substance abuse policy due to cocaine addiction.

Van Miller(Photo: .)

Story HighlightsVan http://www.coltsonlineprostore.com/WOMENS-PAT-MCAFEE-JERSEY.html Miller will be inducted on Bills Wall of Fame on Oct. 12 game vs.

Yes, Van Miller, the beloved play by play radio voice of the Buffalo Bills for 37 seasons whose trademark phrase "Fandemonium'' to describe the jubilation of fans in the stands is etched in team lore, is the 2014 Bills Wall of http://www.coltsonlineprostore.com/WOMENS-CORY-REDDING-JERSEY.html Fame inductee.

To coin another of Van's memorable lines, "Can you believe it?''

That's because the honor comes a decade after Miller, 86, retired from the booth, making it almost as overdue as a Bills' playoff berth.

We members of the voting committee finally got it right and Van Miller's name will find its rightful place on the renovated stadium's faade at halftime of Buffalo's Oct. 12 game against rival New England.

"Can anybody imagine Bills' history without Van's voice on the soundtrack? Can you tell the team's story without mentioning Van? You can't,'' said John Murphy, Van's popular color analyst for 16 seasons who replaced him as voice of the Bills in 2004. "If there were a fan vote, he would've been on the Wall already.''

For the record, Van, who is also a voting member and ever humble, tried his hardest to convince his peers that the Wall should be reserved for players mostly. After the final vote was taken and he was told he beat out Cornelius Bennett, the great linebacker from the Super Bowl era whose time will come, Van didn't believe it.

It took us a good 15 minutes to convince him Adam Vinatieri Jersey we weren't pulling his leg.

"What? You can't do that. You have to have a player. I voted for Bennett,'' Van protested. "Well, I don't think it's right, but I appreciate it fellas. Thank you.''

After sharing the news with Gloria, his wife of 61 years in June, Van quipped: "She should be on the Wall for putting up with me.''

When he's good, a radio play by play man earns a special place in a sports fan's heart. He paints a Coby Fleener Colts Jersey picture with his words, his voice his brush. And Van Miller was Van Gogh to the ears of Bills' fans.

He called his first football game (Notre Dame vs. Army) when he was 10 years old and talking into his mother's egg beater on the back stoop of his Dunkirk, Chautauqua County home.

He went on to enjoy a 55 year career as one of the most versatile sportscasters in the nation, honored with induction into the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame in 1999 and with the Pete Rozelle broadcasting award by the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2004. Incredibly, he never missed an assignment.

Generations grew up not just hearing Van call Bills games, but also NBA Braves basketball, Niagara University basketball, Bisons baseball and Stallions soccer. As sports director at Buffalo's Channel 4, he did sports, the weather and hosted game shows like bowling's Beat the Champ.

As a kid he was my radio/TV friend and as an adult is my real friend. Knowing Van Miller, one of the funniest, kindest and most genuine people on the planet, is one of the great personal and professional highs of my life and I'm far from alone feeling this way.

One of the things I most look forward to on Bills home games is shaking his hand in the press box, chatting, and laughing at one of his million jokes I've Adam Vinatieri Colts Jersey heard a mllion times before.

"I played linebacker, you know,'' Van, dressed in a Bills sweater will say. "I put three people in the hospital all in the maternity ward.''

Or, "I'm (insert age) now. My social security number is 2.''

A few minutes in Van's presence and you're feeling happy for the rest of the day. Love of people makes him such a good man. But what made Van Miller such a good play by play guy?

"His enthusiasm and his Coby Fleener Elite Jersey energy level,'' said Murphy, the Lockport native who when handed Van's microphone felt like Aaron Rodgers replacing Brett Favre. "He didn't have to get himself jacked up for games. The essence of pro football is that there are only 16 games a year, they all matter, and Van intuitively got that and realized, 'This is big, this is an event, people are excited about this' and he just channeled that.''

From the Rockpile to the Ralph, Van was there for the highs and lows in Bills history and brought millions of listeners along for the ride. For him it wasn't a job, but a labor of love. His best memory? That's easy.

"The comeback game against Houston,'' said Van about Buffalo's NFL record 32 point rally during the '92 playoffs. "Nate Odomes intercepted a pass and Steve Christie came on for the winning kick in overtime. That was something but of course the Super Bowls (four losses) were tough.''

1 in NFL Draft

view traffic Islip, NY 75The free fall was the nightmare scenario for the Texas A star, whose on field bravado and off field swagger turned him into the attention grabber of this draft.

On Wednesday, Manziel spoke confidently of being the first quarterback selected. But he turned into this year's version of Brady Quinn, the Notre Dame quarterback who fell like a stone in the 2007 draft. Oddly enough, both wound up with the Browns. On the same pick, no less.

Cleveland traded up from 26th to get the 22nd overall pick from the Eagles and selected Manziel, eliciting roars Thursday night from a packed house at Radio City Music Hall. Seven years earlier, the reaction was similar when the Browns traded up to 22nd overall to get Quinn.

Manziel offered a vintage reaction when he finally came out on stage to share hugs with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Holding his hands up high and rubbing his fingers together, he made the same gesture as he did after throwing a touchdown pass in last year's opener after being "suspended" for the first half because the NCAA decided he had received money for autographs, which is against the governing body's rules.

In the end, though, he Cory Redding Womens Jersey was grateful to be drafted, even if it was lower than he expected.

"I felt going into this everything would work itself out," he said. "It's a dream come true to be a first round NFL draft pick. It's incredible. It's great for me to end up [in Cleveland], a team that has fans that are as passionate as I am on the field. Those guys are very passionate about a team that hasn't had an incredible amount of success. For me, that means a lot, and it means a lot for this team to trade up.''

There was speculation that the Cowboys might take Manziel with the 16th pick, but Dallas chose Notre Dame tackle/guard Zack http://www.coltsonlineprostore.com/WOMENS-COBY-FLEENER-JERSEY.html Martin. What might have happened if the Cowboys had picked Manziel? "I don't know if the world could have handled that, honestly," he cracked.

He added, "This is something I've thought about since I was a kid 12 years old watching the NFL draft. For me, there's no disappointment. I was drafted in the first round of the NFL draft. For me, that almost blows my mind. It's such an honor. It's such a dream come true. It's truly incredible.''

The Browns can only hope things work out better with Johnny Football than they did with Quinn, a major disappointment in Cleveland. Manziel certainly will make things interesting for the Browns, who have endured a www.coltsonlineprostore.com/WOMENS-ADAM-VINATIERI-JERSEY.html chaotic offseason, most of it by their own doing.

Owner Jimmy Haslam fired coach Rob Chudzinski after one season. Then the Browns made a run at 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh before settling on former Jets and Bills defensive coordinator Mike Pettine. Haslam also got rid of team president Joe Banner and general manager Mike Lombardi and hired Ray Farmer as lead football executive.

Farmer looked like the big winner of Round 1, swinging trades with the Bills and Eagles and grabbing Manziel at 22 and highly rated cornerback Justin Gilbert of Oklahoma State at No. 8. The Browns obtained the 26th pick by trading underachieving running back Trent Richardson to the Colts early last season.

The real shocker of the first round came with the third pick when the Jaguars, who had been linked to Manziel, selected Central Florida's Blake Bortles. The 6 5 Bortles, whose classic pocket Cory Redding Jersey passing style is in stark contrast to Manziel's sometimes reckless running approach, appealed more to the rebuilding Jags.

Bortles threw for 3,581 yards, 25 touchdowns and only nine interceptions last season.

"He's a down to earth guy, a self made guy, a blue collar guy, and he wants to be the best he can be,'' Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell said. "He just needs a little bit of time.''

The Texans made South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney the first overall pick, ending weeks of suspense that included talk that they would trade the pick or select Buffalo linebacker Khalil Mack. Pat McAfee Jersey

The Rams, at No. 2, took Auburn tackle Greg Pat McAfee Authentic Jersey Robinson, whose pass blocking reminds some scouts of Rams great Orlando Pace. The Bills traded up from No. 9 to the Browns' fifth pick to select Clemson's Sammy Watkins, considered one of the finest receivers in recent years.

Mack went fifth to the Raiders, who love the outside linebacker's speed and tackling. The Falcons, at No. 6, took Manziel's left tackle, Jake Matthews, son of Hall of Fame tackle Bruce Matthews and cousin of Packers linebacker Clay Matthews.

This year is full of firsts for the NFL Draft. Aside from the obvious 1st year players, the 2010 NFL Draft is going to be broken up into three days: Day 1 has the 1st round, Day 2 has rounds 2 3, and Day 3 has rounds 4 7. Not only is the 2010 NFL Draft broken up differently than it usually is, but this year the NFL Draft will be shown on primetime television. We could talk for forever and a day about previous NFL Drafts, but that's not what I'm here to do. I may mention some previous drafts for the sake of credibility, but more so, I'm here to give an analysis of the 2010 NFL Draft's 1st round.

The NFL world has been alight today with news, which on the day of the draft is something you would expect. However, much of the attention has been focused on Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger. Just a few days ago, we learned about Roethlisberger's punishment handed down from NFL Commissioner Goodell.

Depending on how the Roethlisberger trade situation turns out, then we could be in for some big splashes in the 2010 version of the NFL Draft. But until all that is cleared up, here are the 1st round winners, the losers, and the surprise picks.

NFL Cheap NFL Jerseys Draft 1st Round Winners

The Detroit Lions got a cheap jerseys future Pro Bowler in Ndamukong Suh at the 2nd overall pick. They then traded up and swapped picks with Minnesota in the 30th spot. In the 30th spot, the Lions grabbed RB Jahvid Best. Jahvid Best may be a bit of a gamble coming off of a gruesome concussion, but the Lions were desperate for some running game to help support Matthew Stafford.

NFL Draft 1st Round Losers

I thought the Jacksonville Jaguars made a questionable pick in selecting DT Jason Alualu, but now that I think about it, it could be a good pick. Along with Aaron Kampman, look for Alualu to do pretty decent. Spiller. Spiller was lightning at Clemson, but he'll be sharing carries with Marshawn Lynch. Spiller.

NFL Draft 1st Round Surprises

Wow, where to start? As we've come to learn with most NFL Drafts, you can be surprised, but just wow. Tim Tebow as the 25th overall pick to the Denver Broncos? Are we serious people? Tim Tebow is a college legend and probably one of the best people you're likely to ever meet, but he was a projected 2nd or 3rd round pick not 25th overall.

Another surprise: QB Jimmy Clausen, who was 4th on Mel Kiper's Big Board is still available after the first day. Personally, I don't think he'll make a great NFL quarterback, but he's still missing out on first round money.

And finally (and no, this isn't a "homer" pick), but the Cowboys may have made a tremendous selection in getting WR Dez Bryant in the 24th spot. A lot is going to hinge on his character but if he behaves, him and WR Miles Austin will make a lightning/thunder combo.

It's hard to coin a "winner" or a "loser" in the 1st round because it's a 7 round draft. We'll have to wait to see how the rest of the draft pans out before we can coin a winner and a loser. However, these winners and losers I've listed are on either the right path or the wrong path. We can only wait to see what will happen in the following two days of the draft.

Refferenced earlier, Mel Kiper's Big Board can be found at Published by cheap nfl jerseys Carl Whitaker
