Cell Phones For Soldiers

CELL PHONES FOR SOLDIERS (CPFS) Cell Phones for Soldiers, a national nonprofit started by two Massachusetts teenagers, partnered with AT&T, which takes used cell phones and recycles them. With the proceeds, Cell Phones for Soldiers and AT&T buy phone cards for deployed soldiers. The national recycling program began on July 4, 2007. Already, Cell Phones for Soldiers has raised more than $1 million and has given out more than 75,000 phone cards to troops deployed overseas. In 2004, Brittany Bergquist, then 13, and Robbie Bergquist, then 12, founded the program to help members of the armed forces stay connected with their friends and family in the United States. AT&T's involvement in the program has helped broaden and expand it. Used cell phones can be donated at AT&T locations in Florida or mailed in a postage paid envelope. IT IS ABSOLUTELY FREE!!
sol_shippingLabel_resized.gif DONATE A PHONE It's simple and FREE – every phone you donate can help increase the amount of talk-time CPFS is able to provide to our troops! Dig through your junk drawer, closets and shoeboxes for that old cell phone that’s just collecting dust and taking up space. INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAILING CELL PHONES: 1. Put the cell phone(s) in the smallest, lightest package possible – extra packaging materials are not required. 2. Please submit cell phones only – minimize weight and save on freight by leaving out manuals, chargers and accessories. 3. Affix the postage-paid shipping label to the envelope, bag or box. 4. Drop the package in the mail or drop it off at your local Post Office. The Postage Paid Shipping Label with Affixed Address Can Be Printed From This Site: http://www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com/shippingLabel_generic_print.html Cell Phones for Soldiers will also accept used cell phones by mail to: ReCellular, 2555 Bishop Circle W., Dexter, MI 48130. Anyone interested in donating and wanting further information can call the Cell Phones for Soldiers program can call (781) 659-7789.
sol_shippingLabel_resized.gif REQUEST CALLING CARDS Help is needed in finding service people who need assistance calling home! The Department of Defense abides by a policy of never giving out information about deployed service people. This is understandable, but has left CPFS without addresses for needy troops! You can assist CPFS in locating service people who need help calling home! To request calling cards for your loved ones, please fill out and submit the REQUEST CALLING CARD form, which can be found at the following web addres: http://www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com/requestCards.html
