"We live in a world that denies our love and treats us as 'abnormal' or at the bery least sexualizes our lives to a strange and glamorous effect. It denies our existence and questions our deepest emotions and identities. It commits assault, verbal and otherwise, on our communities. It creates stereotypes for us to be abominations in the mainstream cultures (queer and straight) and it makes us live as second class members of both and it's members often live in hate of our 'secret' feelings which monosexual cultures prohibit. We can talk about 'normal' when those days are gone.
Celebrating bi-ness is about living and loving in fierce and beautiful ways. A community that supports and provides an outlet for that process is essential. Therefore, celebrating bi-ness in our communities (whether they currently exist or not) is essential." (from my friend Rachel Rainbowspryte)
