revan was once a very powerful jedi master. . . the war between the republic and the sith had taken it's toll on both sides. . .the losses were heavy and both armies could barely function. But finally exar kun was defeated, and the fragile republic began to re-build itself. it was in this moment of weakness that mandalore openly declared war on the republic, starting by striking first at unarmed worlds on the outer-rim, prevoking the repbulic with each world taken. for months the republic fought to keep out of the conflict, and the mandalorians gained power, resources, and unlimited bases from which to launch a major assault against the republic. the republic launched a counter assault, but were badly outclassed by the mandalorian marauders. the jedi, having recently experienced the horrors of war, chose not to intervene in the events of the mandalorian war. . .but a few jedi didn't feel as the council did, chief among them was revan. revan felt that the jedi weren't fulfilling their roles as protectors of peace and justice, by allowing innocent citizens of the republic to die at the hands of the mandalorians, so he and his apprentice malak rallied together the jedi who felt as they did, and defected from the order. . . this is a chapter in the history of the jedi order that is very dark. there were close to 20 thousand jedi who defected from the order and fought on the side of the republic, with revan and malak being heroes. revan was known for his cunning strategy, malak was known for his brutal effiency. . .and together they beat the mandalorians back to the outer rim world of malachor V. it was here that the fate of the galaxy would be decided. it is said that revan, malak and the other jedi took the mandalorians and placed them in internment camps, executing them as they saw fit, of the billions of mandalorians after the war, they imprisoned men, women and children, brutally murdering them in a mass genocide, and displaying their bodies around the galaxy as an example of what happens to those who defy the republic. . .revan spent a significant amount of time on malachor V, and it was said that he had discovered something there that changed him. shortly after this, he and malak visited 5 worlds, tatooine, kashyyyk, manaan, korriban, and dantooine. their reason for this at the time was unknown, and this was the last anybody had ever seen of the pair, as heroes. they disappeared for five years, taking the tenegade jedi and the republic fleets with them. in that time, the republic attempted to move on, rebuild, and put the whole mess behind them. after that five years had passed, revan had returned with a fleet of warships, declaring war on the jedi and on the republic, beginning with the devastating bombardment of the planet telos. The jedi were forced into action. . .and the war raged on for five or six years, until a jedi strike team was given some information that would enable them to capture revan, and end the war. . . what neither the jedi, or revan for that matter had realized, the opportunity was an elaborate trap set by revan's apprentice, malak as his rite of assention to the sith masterhood. revan was gravely wounded and the jedi barely escaped with their lives taking revan with them. the jedi took revan's comatose body to coruscant, and it was determined that his mind was too damaged to be of any use the council in finding malak's whereabouts, so the council used some very archaic, and risky force techniques to reprogram revan's mind with a new identity, and dumped him onto the sickbay of the endar spire, a republic warship carrying jedi ambassadors to the outer rim to recruit new worlds. the endar spire was attacked by sith warships, and was boarded. revan, who was now going by the name leeros ondomoor took an escape pod, and crash landed on the the planet of taris, which is nothing more than a garbage heap today. through a series of misadventures, leeros teamed up with carth onasi, mission vao, a wookiee named zalbaar, a droid t3, and a mandalorian named canderous ordo, and rescued the jedi Bastilla Shan, who was known for her powerful battle meditation techniques. malak was also interested in capturing her, to turn her to the dark side, and solidify his power. the group managed to escape taris before the sith bombarded the surface, killing trillions of people. many thought that revan was at a disadvantage, having lost his ability and connection with the force. Bastilla decided to take leeros to the secret jedi enclave on dantooine. . .where many of the finest jedi of the time were trained. it was decided by the training council, with the exception of master vrook, that leeros would be trained as a jedi, because he and Bastilla were sharing dreams of star maps leading to other places in the galaxy. leeros' training went quickly and easily, without incident, and as one of his tests, he was able to save a fellow jedi from the grip of the dark side, the cathaar, juhani. one day, while searching for lightsaber crystals on dantooine, leeros and his companions stumbled onto the ruins of an ancient temple and were able to access it. leeros had an uncanny abililty to speak many languages, and was soon speaking to the ancient computer. the group discovered in the ruins, the first of the star maps from his premonitions. the council sent the group to locate the others. they travelled to many worlds, and found other star maps. along the way, leeros' power grew and grew, as did his love for his companion Bastilla Shan. Bastilla tried to resist him, but soon found herself also in love with him. after a series of adventures on the other star map worlds, and gaining a few more companions, the assassin droid hk-47 and the jedi jolee bindo, bringing their total to 10, the group was captured by the sith. . .and staged a daring escape. . . during their escape, darth malak arrived and blocked their path to the ebon hawk, their ship. It was then that darth malak revealed leeros' true identity. leeros' was really darth revan. The rest of the crew escaped, but Bastilla was captured by darth malak. revan's love for Bastilla awoke something very dark inside him, and he focused on her rescue, and his revenge. From that point on, revan began to return to his old ways, the thought of revenge burning deeper into him. . .it was on the final star map world of korriban, where revan came back into his full power. He destroyed the sith academy, and took many powerful artifacts from the Sith tombs before finding the final star map. . . Darth Revan had returned. . .and although his companions were uneasy of an alliance with him, they didn't know what else to do. The destination of the Star Maps led to the hidden planet of Rakatan, where Revan began to face and defeat Malak's minions one by one. . . Soon Revan found himself in an ancient temple, with his Jedi companions Juhani and Jolee Bindo. . .and fought their way to the top, where a confrontation with Bastilla, who had turned to the Dark Side awaited them. . . Bastilla tried to defeat Revan. . .but realized that she loved him far too much. . . and it was in this moment that Revan gave himself completely and totally back to the Dark Side, by siding with Bastilla, and killing Jolee and Juhani. The Pair returned to the Ebon Hawk and when the rest of the crew realized what was going on, Revan used a powerful Jedi mind trick to convince Zalbaar to kill Mission. Carth Onasi ran from the ship, and was soon rescued by Republic Forces. Revan, Bastilla, Canderous, HK-47, Zalbaar, and T-3 were all that was left of the group. They then flew to the Star Forge, which was the secret of Revan and Malak's ability to wage war, a war machine fueled by the Dark Side. Revan and Bastilla were soon able to defeat Malak and the Republic. . . Soon Revan left for the outer regions of space, and was never heard from again. . . Until Now.
