your skin is like vanilla frosting

My skin is like chocolate cake

Sure love can be somewhat exhausting

But liking me is not a mistake

So eyes, glossed like glass, can stare all they do

Because what I'm about to say is entirely true

Love does not have a certain color

Race does not prevent us from being friends or lovers

like me  for who he is, not what color his skin  happens to be

And  I feels exactly the same you

 do you like the way my skin shines

And the way youre always on my mind

The way we both can relate in any way

We can be serious, sad, or happy and play

We frown, we cry, we grin, we laugh, we smile and scream

And every night, no matter what, you re sometimes a in my dreams

So why should it matter the color of our skin?

Exactly, it doesn't and it never will

Words and looks can hurt but do not kill

So stare all you want, say all you want, it will not destroy our friendship, love and care

But let me say it is not fair

Hope it  will not make you change, will not make me change

Will not make us the same

We are all unique in so many ways, so independent

It is good to be a little or a lot different

So why don't you join along with the rest of us and be your own self

Because it is not always fun to be the robot and just like everyone
