For those of you that don't know..... I was in the hospital back in August for stomach pains (which they never figured out) but in the process they discovered that I have a 2 golf ball sitting side by side sized tumor sitting on my Adrenal Gland which is being removed this coming Thursday the 13th.
Had my surgery pre-op appt. yesterday afternoon. gave blood (yay, i get to wear a pink wrist band for the next 6 days that has a number on it that they will match up to my blood/lab results the day of the surgery, incase I need to have a transfusion) & had a chest xray done. Got my list of do's and don'ts. Ugh.. I can't smoke a cig at all the morning of my surgery. I have to be at the hospital Thursday morning @ 7am. Boy am I going to be one cranky biotch that morning. And there's a chance they may cut off atleast one of my nails (to be able to get the monitor thingie on my fingertip to record my blood oxygen levels and heart rate.) And I will be staying atleast overnight. I haven't gotten nervous yet but I'm sure when next Wednesday rolls around it's going to hit me I'm sure. My mom & dad are going to be taking me to the hospital and April will be coming along as well (she'll be at my house Wednesday night). I love my best friend..... She'll be staying with me during my recovery time so I don't have to stay at my parents house. I've already contacted the medical supply place near my home and they're holding one of those hospital, roll up to the bed, table tray things. If I'm gonna be stuck at home and potentially bed rest for 2-3 weeks you can bet your booty I'm gonna be online. So I need something that will hold my laptop that won't rest against my abdomin. $25 for a monthly rental, not too bad if you ask me.
I still haven't finished my holiday shopping yet but plan to do that, grocery shop, wrap presents and get my house spotless between now and Wednesday. I hope to get it all done by Tuesday so that I have Wednesday after work to relax and try not to stress too much. My work's holiday luncheon is on Wednesday but lucky me won't be able to drink at it lol. Nurse told me no alcohol the day before and no aspirins or anything of that nature for atleast 3 days before my surgery (can't have anything that will potentially thin my blood).
Anyway, on Thursday at about 9am please keep me in your thoughts and prayers (if that's your gig).
