There you are
Standing....
Trembling....
Rain falling from your eyes
Rays of sun, shining through strands of strawberry hair.
Beautiful, yet pathetic
Resolute, yet shaken
Isolated...
Deserted....
Alone !!
Thinking about Tornados
Roaring through that which had once been your heart.
Leaving ruins of your spirit
Seeking stregnth
Wanting peace
Needing love.
Sweet love, brought down by the bitterness of reality.
Waiting for the promise....
the protection of life’s rainbow
Rescuing you from the storm of life’s dark clouds.
And so....
Here I am
Standing....
Trembling....
Stronger from the years having dispelled the devastation
Brought to my heart by strong winds so long ago.
Yet still isolated...
Still Alone !!
My hand stretched outward toward you, my strawberry princess
Love growing....
Passion raging...
Desire mounting
With each glance...
Each thought of touching your face....
Wiping away the raindrops from your eyes.
Replacing them the warm breeze
of a gentle smile.

April Snow
Nature has a funny way of turning all our heads
As spring comes near and thoughts are filled with planting flower beds.
And so this April evening, as raindrops hit the wall
I fell into a slumber; a deep sleep I recall.
And then within my dream there danced such wondrous signs of spring
The flowers bloom, a bouncing ball, an insects gentle sting.
But then I woke to shoveling and the scraping of the plow.
I stopped, I screeched, I ran to look. What's nature doing now?
The squirrels throwing snowballs down as whiteness starts to melt,
Across the great horizon lay a beauteous snow white belt.
The warmth and coolness in the air confusing all the birds
I stood there shivering in the snow my mind devoid of words.
While driving down a wooded road, the beauty that I see
Surely makes me realize it all makes sense to me.
Nature took this one last chance to whitewash all the earth
And remind us of the innocence God gave us all at birth.
And so, in life, when April comes, don't fear the falling snow
For though it may cold memories bring of hard times long ago
Remember spring is on it's way to spread it beauty 'round
For snows of April never last as flowers break the ground.

To My Angel ~ Come Take My Hand
Come take my hand and let's walk through the stars
We'll laugh at Venus, we'll sleep on Mars.
We'll wake with the sun and hear him yawn
With celestial brushes we'll paint the dawn.
We'll bathe in the magic and shake hands with the moon.
And learn it's mystical unearthly tune.
Our feet will tiptoe through stardust fine.
Our eyes will sparkle our faces shine.
Our deep running love will burn very bright,
Your smile will twinkle and shine through the night.
Come take my hand, let's walk by the sea.
It's vastness reflects its eternity.
The cool of its waves brushing over our feet,
Warmed by the rays of the sun's steady beat.
The sun through your hair makes a halo of gold.
The warmth in your smile leaves no secret untold.
The sand soft as velvet sifts through our toes
While across our faces a summer wind blows.
A seagull in flight looks from up high above
At this couple below, so deeply in love.
Come take my hand let us walk way up high,
On cliffs in the mountains, quite close to the sky.
A rainbow so near that it shimmers above,
It's pot full of gold is our hearts filled with love.
The world below is at our feet.
We stretch out our arms and our power's complete.
For as we look down upon what is..
The wonders of life all blend in a kiss.
And our hearts pour out what together we found,
A pure, deep love which rains down to the ground.
So, come take my hand and my Angel be.
Spread forth your wings and come home with me.
Together, we've looked at the world to and fro
From the skies up above to the sea down below.
And now our sights to our inner souls turn,
Where sultry eternal flames of love burn.
Nevermore need you be all alone.
For my heart is yours forever to own.
No longer can lonliness bring you to cry.

Staring at you through midnight eyes
Taking in the beauty that surrounds you
The beauty that's within you

Raping your soul with the fullness of the moon
Filling it with the brightness of the sun
And the sweetness of morning dew
Keeping THAT within my heart
Till darkness falls and I can view you again

Could Have Been
Life is filled with "could have beens"."should have beens" and more.
Lives that touch and fade apart,Missing what's in store.
A fleeting star passed through the sky Lonely for a wish,
Whizzing off to other worlds Dismayed at being missed.
Ships pass unseen in the nightThey float on doldrum seas
Failing to excite a tide Or stir a living breeze.
Where love was new it fades away And other roads we've ta'en
A wasted chance for true romance What "could have been" we've slain.
And yet we stop, look back in time and see what we have missed;
A gentle laugh, and loving smile and lips we've never kissed.
Perhaps and maybes,might have beens and what ifs fill our minds.
Two roads once leading far apart; could they each other find?
And then one day they intersect That wish, our star has found.
Two ships have gained that steady breeze to lead them homeward bound.
So, side by side we stand and walk we face the coming day.
Now knowing that our "could have been"forever's gone away.
In The Light of the Day
Let us walk in the light of the day
Let me gaze at your smile
As warm and bright as the sun.
Your hair sparkling
Your eyes exciting the very essence of life
We are who we are;
and in the sunlight there is no pretense.
I watch your form
As we walk through a wood
As we picnic by a lake
As we get caught up in the waves of the sea.
Enjoying one another before the darkness falls
For though I love you still
Under moonlight and stars
Magically transforming your silhouette with a hazy halo of gold
Or by the warmth of candlelight
Dancing playfully across your face
The darkness hides the flaws;
and obscures the blemishes
which make up part of who we are.
Your flaws I must know
Your blemishes I must see
That I might love you and the entirety
of who and what you really are.
For you see: I too am deeply flawed
And I seek out that love
which can look past my imperfections
Seeing deep into my soul
Accepting,
Nurturing,
Loving me for the man that I am.
So let us make love in the sun
Let us dance the dance of imperfection
Until our two flawed beings
Combine in precise choreography
Creating one

Everything Happens for a Reason
Why drift I here in dark abyss?
With no motion, thought or feeling.
Lacking sense of time or space,
Finding neither floor nor ceiling.
Now that void is broken by
Intermittent lights so bright.
Showing me what seems the way;
Giving me the will to fight.
Surrender seems so easy here
To let the darkness take me down.
But then a voice so very clear
From an Angel in a tiny gown.
"Why?" I asked, in fear and dread.
"Will all be clear within due season?"
Answering, the Angel said:
"All things happen for a reason."
And so I woke; took up the fight
As sight first blurry then aligned
Then buzzers beeping, and blinking lights
Stole the solace from my mind.
But that fight was to regain
Against all enmity and strife
From me, what was nearly ta'en
My family, my love, my life.
Then the Angel gave a sigh
As a tear rolled down her face
Looking into mommy's eye
Hugged me with a sweet embrace.
My life's bright flame had near gone out
Till reaching into my deepest pit
My Angel's soul had found that spark
With which my spirit she relit.
And, through her love I surely knew
As she turned me round full season.
Despite the darkness I'd been through
Everything happens for a reason.

In my mind I held your hand...
In my heart I dried your tears....
In my soul I gazed upon your tender smile...
Your shining face....
To you, I was, perhaps, invisible....
You...unaware that your kindness set my heart ablaze.
....Then suddenly you were no longer there.
We were young....
Our youth spread out lives ahead of us...
And our futures destined us for different paths.
I slept for what seemed restless years...
Today I woke to see you there
