First and foremost, I must apologize for the some of the misogynistic language of the last post. I am a huge lover of Marcus Aurelius's Meditations and want to spread his teachings to the general public. 

That being said, the only way we can understand him is through English translations from Aurelius' Greek writings and the writings are subject to the translator's whims. I mainly study the writings through Gregory Haye's translation, which I find a lot easier to study. 

The quotes I put up are from George Long's translation because those are in the public domain, as in anyone can freely post them up without copyright infringement. George Long published his own version in 1862, which was a time when men conflated "womanly characteristics" to being weak and childish. Of course, we can't know Aurelius personally since he lived thousands of years ago, but I don't think of him as a woman hater.

So from here on out I will endeavor to edit Long's translation to make it more appealing and applicable to both men and women, for I think Aurelius' words can help us all overcome the pain and suffering we deal with on a daily basis. 

Furthermore, I will keep my previous posts as they are to remind myself not to be so careless and lazy with my work.
