What are you waiting for?

My little adventure!

Well, as most of you know, I went to Texas not too long ago. What should have been a quick trip, ended up lasting way too long! I used to love all kinds of music, including country...now, I am just sick of country (I am sure Raven is glad to hear that!). I am sure, eventually, I will like it again tho. Anyways, we were driving back from Texas, U-Haul trailer in tow, when (on the night of Friday, the 13th, early morning of the 14th~ 12:40 am), a truck driver rammed into the back of us, as we were headin' down yet another hill, in Tennesee. It was 2 lanes, on our side, a large ditch, then 2 lanes heading south-bound on 81. Well, he rammed us, pushed us forward, then hit us again, in the side of the trailer (which is where his bumper ended up embedded). We were in the right lane, because as some of you know, you can't go over 50 with those trailers, because of the major fish-tailing it causes. We had just gotten back up to 50, when he hit us. It spun us around, so that we were between the left lane and the ditch that divided the highway, facing on-coming traffic. Luckily, we didn't end up in the ditch, because we would have flipped, because of how steep it was. We were also lucky that no one else was around to hit us. The driver of the truck had plenty of time to switch to the left lane, but did not. We can only assume, that he fell asleep at the wheel. He told the officer that he was only doing 70 MPH, I beg to differ, since I had just looked in the mirrors, to check the trailer and see if anyone was coming up on us, and there was no one there. I say he was going much faster. We heard no brakes, before he hit either, one more reason to believe he was asleep. So, to sum it up, my left shoulder is messed up quite a bit. My back and neck are sore and keep pinching and popping...but I am in one piece and nothing is litterally broken! Kristie's lower back is sore and her hip, but again, nothing broken. The trailer I was pulling and the truck I was driving are totalled, as well. So, yes we are lucky to be alive, but it does not make the circumstances better. I am now dealing with the heart pounding, every time I drive down hill, or a truck comes up behind me. Really windy roads now scare the hell out of me as well. I will NEVER tow a trailer again. When I move, I will have to find ways around it, because that is just not something I will be able or willing to do again. So, to those of you who rated and commented, while I was away, I appologize for not getting back to you, but I have not been able to log on, for a while. Feel free to drop me a note, if you did do that, so I can repond & return the favor, between catching up with school work. Thanks a bunch to all of you, and I look forward to chatting, when I can. Hugs Tanya/Kitty
