Well, I went to a new doctor today. He's the head Dermatologist and after seeing him today, I so wish that I had been able to see him from the start a few months back. First, for the many of you who are not aware of what I'm even talking about regarding my leg, I have had a problem with my leg (originally both legs) since the end of May. Hence, the reason for no leg pics in my albums for many months! :P It started out as Erythema Nodosum (inflammation of the deep tissue of the leg). My left leg cleared up but my right leg got worse and swelled really bad, to the point that I was having to stay off of it with my leg propped up and taking the major pain killers. After about 3 months, my doctor told me that he was referring me to a dermatologist because he had exhausted all he knew on me and didn't want to waste anymore of my time. (He's a great doctor but a family practicioner.) So, I started seeing a new Derm. who began me on new meds (that were very scary!) of which I have been taking for months now and still not seeing a difference! So, back to today. lol I definitely have an infection in my leg but I have no idea what he said it was called now, some 100 letter name. :P The good news is he's gonna make it better. The bad news is not only is it going to take weeks before it's back to normal but it could be chronic. *cries* He injected steriods into my leg while in his office today, put me on pain meds and prescribed stockings for me to wear. (Ha, still wearing flip flops due to swelling - imagine how cold my tooties have been!!) It will take 2 weeks to notice anything, a month to see results and for the pain meds to kick in (yeah, I know!) and in 6 weeks, I go back for a check up and he's hoping that it will all be good. If not, he'll inject me with steroids again. Lets just say that it has been a long road to get to this point! I have to say that it's not QUITE as painful as it was last night but still very discomforting, as any of you can imagine if you've experienced such swelling. Please keep your fingers crossed for me! :)
