My favorite place is now gone today. *frowns* I have spent at least once a week or more since I was a baby at this place. It is my home. It is the place where I found that my father was actually just a sperm donor. I found that the man that earned my respect, my fatherly love, and my loyalty belong to my grandfather. It was a place that allowed me to become close to my grandmother. It allowed me to realize that I was her. It was a place that I would always belong and be happy. I was at peace there. Life moves on and in the past severaly years I have lost both. I am grateful that I had such great people in my life. They were fun. They were happy. They were poor people that enjoyed life and each other. I will be forever grateful that I had the honor to know them. The house was a small old house. The land is probably worth more than the house. They always said that as long as it lasts their lifetime that was all it needed to do. As much as I wanted to keep the place, I knew it was impractical. Too much work was needed. Too much money was need to fix up the place. I did not even think the house would sell. A sign was put up for sale by owner. I could not believe the response. In this housing market? Unbelievable. It was a testament to the people who lived there that this was the place to be happy. The closing was today. It is a sad day, but I felt better knowing that the young couple was excited and happy to get started there. They told us it had a happy and loving feel. Something that did not leave them. It had good "spirits and vibes". It will be hard not to go there any more. I feel better knowing that someone is just as happy and excited to be there as my grandparents. It still breaks my heart. I am hoping that the new couple will follow in the tradition of happiness, laughter, and love that I shared at that place. So I say a final farewell and keep the memories close to me.
