So while I was driving to work this morning in some pretty bad rain I saw a one car accident. While the car wasn't flipped over, it was spun out and looked to have hit some posts in the median. I couldn't see very well because I didn't notice until I was already past. I decided that I should call it in because I figured someone might be hurt. I looked for a sign with the state police number on it, you know the ones with the direct line in. Well there wasn't any so I broke down and called 911. The first emd I spoke with kicked me over to the staties which is fine(she was a bit slow though). It just went downhill from there. He was slow to respond, didn't grasp what I was saying and got angry with me for calling. Now before everyone gets started let me say this, I am an EMT and fully understand how difficult their job is. I also know how to make a report for a car accident. None of this mattered to them. Should I even bother reporting something in the future or just take the risk and stop myself and call my company direct to come and help? |
