I recall past days... carefree ways
searching for a place to record
studio, living room, it didn't matter
a cheesy little mixing board
instruments set up beckoning
patiently waiting, our desires burning
there was nothing better
we could be working on.
From the hazy desert dusk
to a colorful magical dawn
those were the days we had it all
then a life of struggle crept in
before we knew it our time was up
back to a world of doubt with a grin.
In the back of minds we could always find
the smell of the engine... the halo of lights

the end of the day, we all would play
heaven knew... we were so alive.
