Phoenix Sonnet mdj 06/18/2007 Pain attacks my soul amid the sunburst clouds of the forever setting sun Too long have I, this pain endured of life's reflection without heartfelt love Too long have I, worn this torturous adornment as a constricting glove, I would exchange this emotional rack I'm bound too, and with this feeling be done. Long ago in days I once knew were yet young upon the face of this earth My heart rejoiced frolicking the dew covered love we cast upon the plants The Planets revolved around our play while we lived most happily with scant, Till on the morning I never forgave, our lives came to an end, rendered upon the hearth. Long I wandered, alone in the land bereft and remorseful as the volcanoes lie Yet one day I heard a song in your voice, you are my beloved, come help me to fly! A vision of loveliness, one long lost in the black forest of never more hope You cast your vision upon me, calling me home to a land I've never known You planted my feelings upon your fields of emotional bliss without any stones I can not help but wonder, Is this God's wish? If so, when will we safely elope? ============================== Arise Oh Bird of Paradise Behind each silver lining of a golden cloud indeed lies a pain Like some fiery bird with wings of gold, illusive and obscure Until all the exchanges of heaven and hell are met without a cure Too long, yes too long this pain that has gone on with its disdain In days gone by whence we were still young with passions fire Hearts once renewed by the ever flowing tide of loves bliss Around about the planets roved and we tasted of its first kiss Forgive me thus, that I might once more herald in loves first desire In volcano's fire burns all the dross of love's past and solemn iniquities Until the song of freedom is sung, and once more we fly with its equities Never more must we hope against hope, but trust in what the gift was for In fields of glory then let us plant the seeds of faith and in fertile ground Not amidst the stones of dejection, that hiss back at us with hollow sound To love and to be loved, the vision that is seen by only those who hunger for more Susie E Poling

Mirror, Mirror -- a poem

Mirror Mirror (8, April 2004 MDJ) Mirror Mirror on the wall Tell the truth and show one and all The Cruelty, Selfishness, Lying Supreme The one and only ruler of her own little regime! The one who promises her life intact The one to whom your heart reacts When she knows full well, she will suck you dry Leaving you waiting, with tears falling from your eyes! This woman who sings as sweet as a dove Looking for the world like something sent from above When in truths name she can not say a word straight Runs and hides when you need a promise or to deliver a complaint! Do not be taken in by her deceptive lies! She will ruin you plans while batting her big brown eyes! I walk away from her phantom kingdom now Sadder in heart but wiser I vow The days of forgiveness have come and gone She used them all up, what reserves I had, are now withdrawn! If she ever calls my name again A deaf ear I shall tune to her violin! Take this clue from your own book, cruel BEAU All my responses are done, Just GO.

Poetry

Late upon this Monday Night Out of the corner of my eye I could have sworn I spied your form Waifting across my thoughts As a ghost upon the floor. I wondered how You had arrived; I wondered if You had thought of me; And most of all, I wondered If you still want me? Till in the fullness of the late hour I rose to attend my bed Half hoping to find You there waiting for me. I shamed myself from Such trivial thoughts Unbecoming of man Totally in control Of his imagination! But then I opened the door To spy a form Wrapped in my blankets Upon my bed And your voice calling to me "Lascavyia, come to bed. I need you to hold me." Never will I doubt the Power of dreams again.
