Mine Eyes Are Open
I open my eyes
To meet every day…
The sky is dark,
The animals are stirring…
And the trees stand tall…
But it’s cold,
And the trees are bare.
It’s fall…one of the darkest times of the year.
If only I could close my eyes…
And end Fall this very instant…
Better still…close my eyes…
And end my very existence!
