so I can't help but think I came across as kind of bitchy in my mum about Alina's birthday. My sister and I do everything together practically every weekend...you think that this would be something that would be no different. We have the same family & we live a distance from the rest of our family...so it would make sense that we would have a joint party. The boys shared their first "family" birthdays-they're 6 days apart-at the same age...so it was special for them.But they also had separate parties in their respective towns for their respective friends. Here-I have my sister-that's it really anymore. I have co-workers, I have fair-weather friends...but ultimately-I'm alone. It would make more sense for me to go have a birthday party for Alina in Sacramento that it does for me to have one here in hell. I would have had no problem sharing Alina's birthday with Brady...had it been planned that way. But it wasn't planned that way. My sister has to be in control of everything, everything is her terms, her time frame, her plans. It's the one time that I actually WANTED something to go my way, my daughters way. This is something that is supposed to be special for us...it would have been nice if it had been planned for something that I could incorporate my friends from out of town-because I know that some of them WANT to be here for Alina's first. Hell, I would have had no problem pitching in money, if it meant that there would be room for those outside of family that mean something to Alina & I. There is 1 person, who I hope will come into town that weekend,if he has no plans because he is the exception to the rule. I just can't help but feel hurt...maybe i'm just being an emotional chick. maybe i've got it all wrong. i just can't believe my baby is going to be 1...
