Is there a logic that prevails in life? Is anything meant to be or was that just a fairytale we were spoon fed as children? Dreams, in their pure form, seem boundless; and yet in reality, once humans interact, we seem to trip over our own shoelace lies. We drink from our mothers communal milk, forced to choke down altered beliefs and bias opinions; all found one day to be fraudulent claims for a self serving purpose. We advocate misery as being an acceptable way to live, never taking the time to not only teach happiness, but to live it. Life is the journey, not the destination and time is precious and fleeting. We have barely even begun to glimpse the voyage our spirits will embark upon, with our closed minds we couldn't even vaguely fathom all the possibilities. We desecrate the planet we have been given, we seem to think life is our right. How is it a right if we only few prove they deserve it? Life is our gift... Will there be a day when we all wake up, look around and realize what we have done? And will it be too late? So many things we take for granted, thinking it will always be there for us, even when we abuse it. Ignorance infects us and spreads so far, so quickly it's become an adopted lifestyle, almost common law. We persecute innocence, yet we let criminals walk the streets, and we fear what we cannot disprove or explain. We wade through this ocean of hypocracy daily and still wonder where the negativity eminates. We search for easy answers and miracle cures, "just take a pill and change your life!" We spend most of our lives chasing shadow dreams, always distracted by our illusions, lust and lies. We tell our children to dream big and yet we only show them how to live small. People still bring life into this world that aren't even capable of keeping themselves in it. We trick, we steal, we cheat; whatever it takes.... WHATEVER IT TAKES? The ends justify the means, right? Can we repair what we never even seem to see, what we refuse to acknowledge? Is sincerity lost? Too few people ever find joy in the day-to-day life, most only find complications and frustrations.
In writing this am I in turn selling negativity? Am I saying that this is all there is? It's actually quite the opposite.... We have such potential, there are so many diamonds in this rough. Perhaps very few actually believe in happiness, truth and compassion; but those who do, do it whole-heartedly. Imagine if we all came together and began healing not only Mother Earth, but started healing ourselves. If only we would just take some time to help another and ourselves, if we just took the time to love and cherish those close to us as well as those far beyond our reach. Maybe if we took the time to quiet ourselves and act from the hear... just maybe a logic would prevail in life.
