Life

OK.. So normally I don't blog about these types of things. This is one topic that has really made me upset. I'm sure some of you have heard that California legislatures are trying to pass a law saying that you can not spank a child under the age of 3. I'm not to sure about all of you but as a child I was spanked when I did something bad. I spank my children as well when they do something bad. There is a difference between spanking your child to let them know that they did something bad and beating your child. I think if you beat a child you should go to jail no questions asked. I think it's absolutely disgraceful that we have teen-agers now that scream child abuse because we won't let them go out with their friends until midnight when they are 12. What is this world coming to??? I just don't understand how anyone can tell us how to raise our kids. One of the reasons that there are so many "bad" kids today is that no one cares enough to discipline them and if they do care enough to they are scared they will go to jail for it. I stand behind spanking 100%. What kind of message are we sending to our children telling them no matter what they do we can't do anything about it. Don't get me wrong once again I will reiterate that I don't not believe in BEATING your child and yes there is a difference! If your child does something wrong and you smack them on there hand (lightly) that is one thing. If you give your child a black eye or a broken bone you should go meet bubba in the big house. Come on people lets for once stand up for our kids, teach them wrong from right and care about them. We should show our kids everyday that we love them and that includes showing them right from wrong. Here is a quote I found in the Philadelphia Inquirer and I would like to leave off with it. Have a good day folks. "Where do you stop?" asked Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, a Republican, who said he agreed that children younger than 3 should not be spanked but had no desire to make it the law. "At what point are we going to say we should pass a bill that every parent has to read a minimum of 30 minutes every night to their child? This is right along those same lines."
