Suddenly the sound of a turning door knob made him back away from the window and take a seat by the unused fireplace. The doors blew open and in walked a group of elderly men and women followed by another group of soldiers lead by a very young man that seemed to be the leader. Being the respectful gentlemen he was Kyle took to his feet and bowed low. “ Stop…no need to bow you are not our kind,” stated a man in his thirties as he stepped forth. “ Sir I respect elders of all races not just my own,” Kyle stated. Slowly he straitened up and looked over the crowd that stood before him. As they shifted for the young man to pass he caught sight of Cassandra’s golden locks. “ The message my dear Cassandra copied from your chest is most displeasing to me and the elders,” the man said. He paced back and forth scratching a small stub of hair on his chin. “What Zachary means to say is that we aren’t quiet sure why such a person would write that and in the skin of a worthless animal,” Darla spat. “Darla please just because you hate them for killing your husband and child doesn’t mean you must make everyone of them feel as if they are nothing,” a man snapped. “Michael is right Darla not all of them did that.” Kyle looked from person to person a look of confusion upon his face. “ENOUGH,” yelled the young man. The elders stopped talking amongst themselves and looked upon the man. “Zachary just because you have gained Eric’s title as leader doesn’t mean the elders must listen to your every word….they do because they wish it…..I will never do what you say and I am not your dear Cassandra,” Cassie snapped. She stood there looking at Zachary with such hatred. “Kyle we would all like to know why that mech choose you to carry this message to us.” Kyle looked at Cassie to see defiance in her beautiful eyes. “ I thought this woman to be my friend but it proves you can’t trust anyone anymore……she came to my house after I had quit my job…..she made it look like she wanted me but I tried to avoid her…….that’s when things went down hill,” he stated. The elders seemed to be deep in thought as Zachary paced back and forth often glancing at Cassie. “Females are becoming mechs now?” “Yes they have and it is not going to be good…females are wild no telling what they will do.” Kyle saw Cassie look his way and for once smile just the slightest bit. “Daughter in order to catch this woman I would like you to watch over this young man……….you are the best fighter we have and seeing as she knows almost everything about us we will need you and only you to complete this,” Michael stated. At that order Kyle watched Cassie bow her head and step forward into better sight. “ Michael how dare you place her on this dangerous mission?” Zachary screamed. Kyle watched as Michael drew up to full height and towered over Zachary. “ it is what an elder can do without the consent of our “leader” and so we have chosen” Michael spat.
