I just sent a letter to twenty news organizations, demanding that they give more coverage to Ralph Nader’s presidential campaign. Nader is currently polling at six percent nationally, which means that 12 million Americans support his candidacy. And yet the mainstream media barely covers his campaign or his platforms—supported by a majority of Americans—leaving millions more Americans unaware that they have more than two options this year.
We are dealing with critical election issues this year. We should be having discussions about withdrawing from Iraq, cracking down on Wall Street crimes, helping millions to get back their homes and pensions, and building a green infrastructure for our future. But the two major party candidates are not talking about these issues, and the mainstream media does not address them sufficiently, either.
Americans need to know that they have choices this year, and so we need to put pressure on the mainstream media to cover Ralph Nader’s candidacy.
