January 2008 is designated for 5 issues to be made aware of. These are all month long awareness recognition. Although you may not be personally affected by any of these, someone you know might be. They may be open about it or scared to admit there is a problem or health issue. They may not know where to go for help, counseling, or for someone to lean on when it gets them down.
People are generally scared of the things they do not fully understand, so I encourage everyone to read up on these… and other subjects. That way, we can all be there for our loved ones, friends, and family.
They are not alone. You are not alone. I am not alone. In this month, I have been affected by one of the Awareness. Cervical Health. I had cancer cells on my uterus and cervix. I am cancer free, but I still support the cause, the research, and all of those affected by issues relating to this matter. And, another helped my two of my children when they were born. They did not have a birth defect per say, but the research and developments that the March of Dimes had put in to the advancement of NICU, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, helped my children when they were born with Pnuemothorax. I can’t say that I truly know anyone affected by the others, but I probably do and just don’t know it.
Spread the word.
I have pictures in my photo album marked Awareness that has ribbons, icons, and such. Feel free to rip them if you like. I will be adding more as time goes on. Just click the link below and it will take you there.
