| It seems...just by looking on here or myspace or any major mall that punk has become so watered down it's no longer what it is supposed to be. As some of you may know, punk means someone who gives oral sex for cigarettes in prison, so by calling yourself a punk its insulting yourself. In a lot of ways thats what punk is, two foot mohawks, studded clothes, safety pins through cheeks, constant violence. I got in the scene when I was 9 and while I still promote the music and love the music I cut off my mohawk and shed my studs and spikes. Whenever bands like Green Day are considered punk, is the name really dead? Sure there are forms out there. Street punk for one but in all essence, has punk rock pretty much kicked the bucket? |
