Like why I had no choice, but to let you go
Even though, I love you so much

Many times I would watch you sleep, your chest rising and
falling slowly
You looked so beautiful, with the moonlight dappled across

I could not help, but realize just how much I loved you
Sometimes, I would catch myself whispering it to you
You needed to hear the words " I Love You ", cross my lips
Words I couldn't say unless you were sleeping
My actions should've spoke volumes above any words I could
have said
But you couldn't read between the lines
You made me feel safe, you made me complete
In my eyes you should have seen yourself reflecting back
To understand the misery I felt as I watched you walk away
Would be to get inside my skin
The guilt I feel now consumes me everyday
Knowing I will never have a chance to make it up
My heart plummeted into a dark abyss
The day you died a part of me died too
The words "I love you", crossed my lips too late
Hanging there, in the damp air
Using a bottle of Jack to wash them down
Laying, a rose atop your stone
