Chief Running Bear had three pregnant wives. Wife number one gave birth to a daughter and Chiefie was so pleased he ran out and built her a brand new wigwam made of the finest buffalo hide.
A couple of days later, wife number two gave birth to a son. Chief was ecstatic and built a wigwam made of the finest antelope hide.
Not long after, wife number three gave birth and the Chief called the entire tribe together to announce the news. He unveiled wife number three's new wigwam and the entire tribe gasped as they beheld a double story, all mod cons wigwam made of imported hippopotamus hide.
"Twins! Your wife 3 had twins!" shouted one brave.
Chiefie smiled and asked, "Yep, how did you know?"
"Elementary Chief. The value of the squaw of the hippopotamus, is equal to the value of the squaws of the other two hides!"
