 in the summer of 1997 I was 18 years old I went to Texas to just visit my sister there here name is sues one day she and  her husband asked me to go to a picnic with them and there friends I agreed  to go we went to there friends house it was a couple with two little girls that  was about  7&8 years old but thy had some problems they had bran sisters  and there mind had the composite of a 2&3 year old and thy just spoke Spanish and no English well when we got to the river

I had never seen anything like on one side the river was so shallow that a person can drive there car on it and the other it was about there feet deep with a waterfall in the middle  that is  about ½ the size of a side walk  with wide deep groves in it a bout the size of a mans lag now on one side of the falls the water is come that It looks like glass and the other side of the water is so wiled and fast that it has cut the rock be low the falls in the shape of coral like some thing that you would only see in places by the ocence  and the rocks are as sharp as a racer and you have to where your shoos on it so a person doesn’t  cut there feet up

I went to the 3foot side because there was these two boys that was fishing there with  a net and I had never seen it be for and I wanted to see how it was done now at that time I had my back to the falls I turned a round to tell my sister a bout this that when I seen one of the little  girls on the falls I then looked a round for here parents but I could see them a round and I didn’t know what I should do and I tried to tell the girl that was dangerous and ask her where here mother and father was but she couldn’t under stand me at all

I slow walked  to the little still trying to tell her to be careful and looking for her parents and I seen her start to slip I reached out to garbed her and slipped back words and  fell in the deep side my lag got stuck in the in the falls and when I fell I closed my I eyes my other lag was over the one that was in the grove  of the fall and I didn’t  know that I still had the girl in my arms until

I opened up my eyes under the water and she was under the water with me so I tried to push her up I had put I arm be hind here to keep her from going over the falls and she was so small the I know that I lost my grip the fall would have killed her and I used my other hand to keep her above the water and as for I was stuck under water

I would try to do some sit ups and get some air and every time I opened my moth it would fill up with water so I could just get a word or two out and that girl had no idea about what was happing  she was smiling and laffing un till I stared cussing and screaming for help that’s when my sister and every body came to me at first they tried to just pull me off the falls but I know I had no more strength in my arms and I couldn’t hold that girl any more        

I tolled them to get the girl first then you can come back for me and thy did it took two big men to pull me off of the falls I had perfiked impression of the rocks in my arm and lags I little girl was ok she didn’t get heart at all the next day I was asked to go to the little girls house

 I found out that it was her birthday  and her father walked up to me and gave my a belt buckle and told me that we are family now and that I saved he little angel and I still where that buckle to remind of that little angel and in 2005 that angel went to her home in heaven I got a call from Texas  it was my sister she told me that the little girl had passed a way in the night from a bran stroke and when I get back to Texas I will throw the buckle in to the  river that started to all and I know for me that’s when  a Texas belt buckle will have found it way home
