It is Sunday night and the news for the moment is fair. My father's hip surgery is considered successful. However, he will have heart bypass surgery either Monday or Tuesday. He has 100% blockage in one artery, 80 % blockage in another artery and 70 % blockage in the third artery. Also they will replace a valve in his heart at this time. His heart held up well during and immediately after surgery but over the weekend has been giving him problems.
He is not the best patient and he is understandably nervous about the next surgery. My brother and I have repeatedly had to remind him that he will have to stop getting irritated with the staff and the procedures being run on him to determine the best course of action. The doctors will make a final decision tomorrow morning as to when to perform the surgery.
