ok, so Eddie and I were headed to bed last Thursday when I went to flick off a light switch.
When I made my move towards the switch I stepped in something cold and wet.
I looked around me and realized my dining room carpet was soaked with water. So Eddie went to get the maintenance man who lives on the grounds and he came back with him.
So the poor guy investigated and came back to tell us that the boiler had busted and was flooding out the boiler room which shares a common wall with my apartment.
So they had to turn off our boiler which in turn cut off our hot water and our heat. They brought me some of those portable heaters, which keep throwing the breakers on me.
They dried out my carpet, but seeing how the boiler flooded my apartment about 2 months ago, my poor china cabinet could not take any more and it finally warped.
I am being compensated for my inconvienence so no worries there. But now my house is in shambles while everything is being repaired. I have resorted to heating the main rooms of the apartment with the oven as that does not trip our breakers.
The workmen were here from 10 am yesterday till 10:30 pm last night. Apparently there is a "bad nipple" on the new boiler and they can not get another one until Monday UGH!! Personally I think they did not want to come out here on "Super Bowl Sunday" (which the holy grail of manhood) to repair it.
But tomorrow it should be fixed and hopfully my bathroom will be repaired as well.
So think warm thoughts my friends as I sit here shivering while dressed in layers drinking massive amounts of coffee and watching the game today.
So if I seem unfriendly, stressed or just bitchy .. it is nothing personal. I just have a lot going on right now.
