ok, this advice im askin is for my 20 yyear old lil brother...lets call him "jose"..."jose" met a cute girl two years ago and hooked up with her...this gurl who we will call "maria" told my brother that she was 16 going on 17..."jose" believed her cause she had the body and mentality to go with it...anyways, "maria" ends up pregnant and my brother takes upon himself to then go see her mom and tell her that he is the father of the baby...upon meetin her mom he discovers that "maria" is really only 13 goin on 14...wow, rite? anyways, "maria's" mom said that as long as "jose" responds for the baby financially and is in the baby life as a father figure that she would not press charges...upon "maria" givin birth (which i attended) the hospital social worker took it upon herself to notify the authorities about "maria's" situation...when the detectives arrived at "maria's" house her mom told them that she was not going to press charges because it was in her grandbaby's best interest that the father not be in jail...well, the state prosecutor has not taken her wishes into consideration because he is now tryin to prosecute my brother "jose" for sexual assault on a minor and assault and battery on a minor...what i need is some good advice on how i can avoid this from happenin...please dont tell me to get a lawyer because we have but his idoit self doesnt know what he's doin...any ideas or loopholes that anyone knows about please message me back with them so that i can give "the lawyer" something to do...please help...
