Ok, well it looks like the new radio server is up and running, though I'm still going to have to tweak the rotation rules...
Ideally I want to set up a station Id every six songs (every half hour, so nothing too annoying), and for the six songs have the following setup repeated twice...
The highest weighted song (songs get higher weightings for being newer, being requested more. They loose weight each time they are played. It's a better form of 'random).
A brand new song (each week I'll be dropping new tracks onto the server and I'd like them to feature heavily for the first couple of weeks).
A least played song (something from the bottom of the pile that you probably won't have heard yet).
Ok, now the task is to set up a website front end and get it connecting to the radio server so that you can interact and be your own DJ by requesting songs into the current playlist. Also be nice to have a 'now playing' thing up there as well and eventually link all the bands up to their websites.
