Ahh yeah Hidden Pain
To be alone is not to sit in a valley deep, not the dessert or wooded glen.
To feel isolation you do not have to travel as far as this,
The city is the loneliest place of all, feel small, your nothing, a grain of sand.
You see I’m alienated from my work; I have no connection with the process.
Lord I feel pain but I cannot get angry!
I internalise, rationalise and paralyze the pain: won’t anyone hear my cry?
A bottle in my hand: alcohol numbing the abuse of years, fear and tears.
God: what have I become?
Where I work there is no fulfilment: I’m a number on a machine.
I see no joy from what I do, it serves only demonic powers.
The brilliance of pure light that once was, is no more.
If there was ever a time that I needed a guiding light: this is it.
The Galvanised Grey is killing me!
The power of man changes from hand to hand over generations but nothing changes,
The starving, sick and destitute are still here to mock the arrogance of the so called developed world.
What have we learnt, but burnt and destroy and new ways to unemploy?
We all just sit and allow it to happen: do you care, stare and dare?
Or is it weekend binges that help you cope, smoke on dope: it’s a joke!
God it’s all so sickening but I feel so powerless, normlessness and nothing.
