As I stand in the middle of nowhere,
A place where your presence is scarce,
I fear how I will go on,
I suddenly feel like a new-born.
The ghostly shadows of memories creep up behind me,
They don't give me a chance to flee,
Engulfing me in their bitter- sweet taste,
Reminding me of the mistakes made in haste.
The corridors seem empty,
As people pass by in plenty,
Everyone is around, yet no one is there,
Maybe it's because I just don't care.
I wonder who'll hold me when I fall,
Who will push me up that wall,
Whose hand will find mine when in need,
Who will I go to when I bleed.
The sorrow has been trapped inside for too long now,
I need to let it out, someway, somehow,
So I finally let the memories engulf me,
And this time, I don't try to flee.
I travel back all those miles,
To all those smiles,
And now when the end is near,
I travel back again in tears...
With my heart a little lighter,
I stand up a little mightier,
I walk on into the unknown,
To embrace the world alone.
