SOX FORCE GAME 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Game 6, ALCS, THE SOX facing elimination in a must-win situation, and all hope falls on the shoulders of BOSTON's veteran pitcher, Kurt Schilling. THE SOX trail in the series 3-2, needing a winning performance from Schilling and run support from the rest of the team. But the question on everyone's mind is, "Can Schilling come through while recovering from a recent surgery to repair a tendon in his foot?" Bloddy sock and all, Kurt takes the field and, quite possibly, pitches what can only be described as the best game of his carreer. That was the scene at Yankee Stadium 3 years ago as THE SOX were tryin to come back from a 3-0 deficit in the ALCS against the YANKEES and advance to the world series. And now 3 years later, THE SOX find themselves in the same situation, trailing Cleveland 3-2 in the series. The only differences, no bloddy sock this year, and we're at FENWAY insteadda NY. But the same question still lingers, "Can Schilling repeat his marvelous performance?" And ALL of RED SOX NATION are just a little vervous as their team takes the field in this "Do or Die" game. A win would bring the series to a 3-3 tie and force GAME 7 and another chance to defeat Cleveland. A loss would mean that the doors of FENWAY are closed again until next spring. Well if the 1st inning really does set the tone for the entire game, then Cleveland didn't even have a chance!!!!!!!!! Schilling would get out of the inning easy, and THE SOX bats would come alive right from the start. Pedroia and Youk would both single, "Big Papi" would walk, loading the bases for Manny who already has 20 Grand Slams in his career. But Manny and Lowell would both get out, bringin up J D Drew, who hasn't been much of an offensive force this season for THE SOX. Fending off a couple pitches, Drew found one he liked. And everyone jumped out of their seats as the ball would keep sailing, the center fielder running back, back, back to the wall, "ITS OUTTA HERE!!!!!!!!" yells the announcer as the THE SOX start the game with a 4 run lead on a GRAND SLAM by JD DREW, the first hit at FENWAY in the playoffs. Cleveland would score 1 run in the 2nd inning with a home run hit by Martinez, but couldnt narrow the lead any more than that. In the 3rd inning, THE SOX bats would come alive again. Manny and Lowell would both walk. Drew would add to his RBI's, driving in another run with a single. Ellsbury would drive in a run, and Lugo would drive in 2 with a double. Pedroia would walk, and Youk would reach base on a botched throw. Pedroia would later score on an error, and THE SOX leave the inning with a 10-1 lead. Schilling and THE SOX awesome defense would continue to shut down Cleveland, striking out 5 and not allowing any more runs through 3 more innings. The Indians would score one more in the 7th, but thats it. In the 8th inning it was all SOX again. Youk would walk, and "Papi" would getta double. Manny's sacrifice fly ball would score another run, and Lowell would bring "papi" home. THE SOX would leave the inning now leading 12-2. Cleveland would lose its last chance to end the series after a 1-2-3 inning, and shouts and cheers can be heard all over New England as THE SOX tie the series and repeat history, forcing game 7 tonight, this time AT HOME, "The Hub", "Beantown". Traffic will most likely be nonexistant as everyone near a TV will be glued to it, on the edge of their seats. Watching every inning anxiuosly as THE SOX try to make history once again!!! GO SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(after leaving boston in a 1-1 tie, and losing the next 2 in cleveland, the sox did what they do best. i apologize in advance for the lack of some stats...i missed a few innings cuz i had to run an errand)..... A warm mid-October night, and there's barely any traffic on the road. With THE SOX in Cleveland hoping to stay alive, it seems all of New England are sitting somewhere, huddled in front of any television they can find as they anxiously await the outcome of Game 5 with THE SOX in a "Do or Die" situation, losing in the series 3-1. A win would bring the series back to BOSTON for Game 6, a loss would mean THE SOX would just come home. But no one is thinking that way!!!! The one thing on everyone's mind is how THE SOX were in this very same situation just 3 years ago when they faced elimination against the YANKEES, being down in that series 3-0, and how they won 4 straight games to eliminate NY and go on to beat St Louis in the WORLD SERIES. Of course they can do it again!!!! Fresh-faced sensation, Josh Beckett, would command the game thru 8 innings striking out 11 batters and allowing just one run! And THE SOX offense would start things off early. Youk gave THE SOX an early lead with a solo home run in the 1st inning. Cleveland would tie it in the bottom half. After a "Papi" walk in the 3rd inning, Manny would come to the plate and launch a ball towards the fence, driving Ortiz home from 1st. However, the ball would bounce off the corner of the wall and stay in play, leaving manny at 1st and recording, quite possibly, the longest RBI single ever hit at 390 feet. SOX up 2-1. I missed the next 4 innings, but when i returned, THE SOX had increased their lead to 4-1, and the 8th inning was just starting, tho it was the most exciting inning! Drew would lead off with a walk, followed by a Varitek out. Coco Crisp would reach base on a short ground ball because of a bad throw by the pitcher. Lugo would advance the runners and reach base on a bunt that caught the infield by surprise. Now, with the bases loaded, Pedroia would come to the plate. In the middle of the count, the catcher couldnt handle one of the pitches, and Drew would score on a passed ball. Pedroia would walk, loading the bases again as Youk, who already has a couple home runs in this series, comes to the plate. He would walk too, bringing in another run. Papi would get up and scrifice a fly ball to drive in another run. When the inning was over, THE SOX advanced their lead to 7-1. And Cleveland could do nothing to overcome the difference. And as that last out was recorded in the 9th inning, there was one simultaneous outburst of cheering all around New England as our boys stayed the execution and bring the series back home for game 6. And if history really does repeat itself, game 7 as well. GO SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOX WIN 10-3!!!!!!!!!!

Let's set the scene..... Boston, mid October, a brisk 48 degrees, winds gusting upto 20mph. Once again the crowds mass, huddled close in the stands to help keep warm. As the seats in historic Fenway Park are full at the start of the 1st game in the American League Championship Series against the Cleveland Indians, fans look on at what has become quite a common thing in the last few years. The Red Sox are in the playoffs again and "The Hub" is alive, bustling with cheers as THE BEST FANS IN BASEBALL prepare for another amazing spectacle. Tensions were high as the question on everyone's mind was, "Can the Sox bats produce against one of Cleveland's top 2 pitchers with 19 wins this season"? And, "Could sensation Josh Beckett stay consistent and come up with another great game"? Both were answered quite early in tonight's 10-3 victory. Beckett gave up a solo home run in the 1st inning and Cleveland had an early lead. But he would then strike out the rest of the side to hold Cleveland to just that run. In the bottom of the 1st, following a base hit by David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez gotta base hit to drive in the tieing run and THE SOX would end the inning with a 1-1 tie. After that, it was all SOX!!! "Papi" and Manny would combine for 10 at bats and 10 plate appearances, with Manny driving in two other runs on walks with teh bases loaded. Cleveland would get a couple more runs, but too little, too late. Now THE TRIBE goes to Game 2, down 1 game already, and are hoping that their other top pitcher can help them tie the series tomorrow nite. As for Boston, its party time tonite but back to serious ball tomorrow. And with Kurt Schilling on the mound, THE SOX hopes are high, and theres is already a feeling of a sweep in the mind of every SOX FAN!!! But only time will tell!!! GO SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's Always Next Year

Awwwwwwwwwwwww, after last nites short effort at YANKEE satdium, it seems the boys in NY are now saying that familiar phrase that rang on the lips of soooo many citizens of RED SOX NATION for sooooooo many years. And while i give all the respect in the world to the BRONX BOMBERS, after all no one will ever achieve what they have in baseball, I cant help but feel just a little (and of course im being sarcastic...its more like overwhelming) cheerful about how the yankees ended their season. so now THE SOX prepare for the ALCS against THE TRIBE, and it los to be quite an interesting series as the two best records in the majors battle it out for the penant and the chance to face the winner from the NLCS, either the ROCKIES or the DIAMONDBACKS, in the WORLD SERIES. GO SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After a day off to travel, THE SOX entered the LA Angels' ballpark today with heads held high, and keeping a rather laid back mood as they led the ALDS 2 games to 0. 41 year old veteran, Kurt Schiling, took the mound in hopes of keeping the Angels at bay, by shutting down their offense, and allowing the RED SOX sluggers to hammer the runs home. After a scoreless 1st three innings, THE SOX led off with back to back home runs by "Big Papi" and Manny to give our boys from BOSTON a comfortable 2 run lead in the 4th. no score change for next few innings with schiling pitching his way out of a few nail biting situations. In the top of the 7th inning, "Big Papi" and manny once again led off with a hit and a walk respectively, and that set up a rally that drove in 7 more SOX runs, making the score 9-0. 1 run drove in for LA in the 8th inning would prove to fall short of the amount they needed to have any hope of continuing the series. So THE SOX pull away, sweeping the ANGELS and are now back to BOSTON to await the winner of the CLEVELAND, NY, series. It wouldnt be OCTOBER without RED SOX NATION!!!!!! GO SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Prayer for OCTOBER

Our Father, who art at Fenway... Baseball be thy game. They Kingdom come, Playoffs need to be won, On Earth, then on to the Cask 'n' Flagon. Give us this day, a perfect Papi, And forgive us our losses, As we forgive those, Like Bill Buckner. And lead us not, into desperation, But deliver us from any losses. For thine is the Power, And the Glory, To beat the Angels, Forever and ever....the Yankees suck A-men!

SOX WIN GAME 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it was a, "nail biting", "on the edge of your seat" nite for baseball in october With the NL teams having a travel day and not playing, both ALDS games were aired last nite. The Yankees once again fell short and failed to win a game. Thanks mostly to an extra innings base hit to drive in the winning run for Cleveland. And in much the same fashion, THE SOX battled the ANGELS in a game where they had the lead early but gave it up, and manged to tie the game. It stayed tied until the bottom of the 9th inning when, much in the same fasion as the yankees loss, MANNY RAMIREZ hit a 3 run home run to win the game for THE SOX!!!!!!! And so if things continue this way it looks like THE SOX will be meeting the TRIBE in the ALCS...the two best records in MLB this season...should make for an interesting series :D

SOX TAKE GAME 1

so october is in full "swing" with the start of the MLB playoffs....The SOX took game 1 in a 4-0 shutout against the LA Angels of Anaheim...beckett pitched a nearly perfect game giving up only a couple hits in the first inning and shutting down the rest of the angels lineup in the remaining innings....if last nite is any indication then the SOX will soon be bringing another WORLD SERIES trophy home soon!!!!...and with Dice-K and Schilling pitching games 2 and 3 we're definitlely in good contention to sweep this first series!!! GO SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Cuz i love that dirty water.....oooohhhhh BOSTON ur my home!!!!!!!!!!"
