He was proud, strong, and fierce but he had been hurt many times. Numerous battles left him guarded and protective of himself. His growl kept most away at a safe distance. That’s what he knew, what felt normal. Then she came along soft, sweet, unexpected, and not afraid of his demeanor. She showed him her heart and with one soft kiss, she melted his. His reluctance and fear began to disappear and his guard slowly dropped. The control he held so tightly was lost with her. This was new, unique, and scary to him but he could not stop himself. He knew no matter what happened he would never be the same. He just knew he needed his kitten, his baby girl. She loved his softness knowing how vicious he could be. She adored his affection, passion, pride though not always the easiest to handle. She knew him best and eased him with just a touch. He adored and protected her becoming her safe place and it made perfect sense. The way it was truly meant to be. With her by his side he was better, stronger, and more proud. He could take on the world with her loyal and close. He realized there is no glory in being king if his queen did not stand by him. She was sweet, innocent, and loving; she was his and that’s all he needed. That’s all that mattered…
