I was born in North Carolina & still live in NC. I dropped out of school at age 13 to have a baby. I married at 14, had a second son at 15 & had my daughter at age 17. I divorced at age 19 & never remarried. I've had a very interesting life. I grew up in the 60's-70's hippie era so i was into FLOWER POWER, Dope, Hip huggers, bell bottoms, boho, love triangles, barefeet all year long.
There were no cell phones, no computers, no cable TV & no video games.
If we were VERY LUCKY, we may be able to get a HEAVY BULKY transistor radio & listen to our favorite tuness on AM..lol

I walked or hitchiked everywhere, hung out with friends (mainly guy friends)& I was a TOMBOY!! For fun we went to the cement yard & snagged BIG TIRES & took turns getting in & letting our friends push us down the middle of the street, we cimbed tress & played robbers & hostages (and of course I always wanted to be the hostage ;).
We played monopoly, freeze tag, red rover, 123 stop, spin the bottle & post office ;)

We dug DEEP holes in the sand lot till we hit red clay. We somehow though we could dig our way to another world.
When it rained we played in the puddles.
These things were our fun & intertainment


We watched TV until 11:00 news went off & the chanel signed off with the NATIONAL ANTHEM, at which point my Dad stood & made me stand & we put our hands over our hearts & sang along. We then went to bed.
For money we raked neighbors yards, run erands, babysat & hunted down drink bottles which we cashed in at the local 7-11 for spending money. We DARE NOT ask our parents for money. We already knew the answer.

We wore the clothes that were bought for us by our parents & then we tried to customize them into a cool but parentaly acceptable style..lol
We were indeed a special bunch! We had fun without chat rooms, without MTV, without CRACK & without killing eachother. I drank in all the bars on the boardwalk when I was 11, 12, 13 etc... I never got carded. We had garage parties & our older friends smuggled in BOONES FARM APPLE WINE! We smoked weed, Drank wine & no-one was the wiser;)
We lost our CHERRIES on a blanket in the woods or the backseet of an abandoned car.


I survived the 70's




I made it to the 80's DISCO ERA!! I danced on glass floors with flashing lights, fell in love with JOHN TRAVOLTA & experimented with acid, ludes, PCP & valium. I went to jail 9 times, became hard & mean. I was a rebel & looking for trouble! I never had to look hard because it seemed TROUBLE was always close by! I even SOMEHOW got in the midst of a bank robbery & police chase & got shot at. but I SURVIVED the 80's



The 90's grabbed me by the heart! I became a COUNTRY MUSIC lover, a REDNECK WOMAN & learned to dance the 2 step, clogging etc... I clubbed every night! I drank every night! I partied like there was no tomorrow!




Then in 96, my middle child (youngest son was killed in an auto accident. He was 17. The 90's were tuff. in 99 my lover of 12 years died with cancer.
I wondered if I could survive the 90's.... I almost did'nt.... But I MADE IT!

The MILLENIUM approached & I took a look at myself. I decided I wanted to be around for a while longer... so after 26 years at 3 packs a day, I QUIT SMOKING at MIDNIGHT when 2000 was rolling in.


I lost my oldest brother (my best friend) in 2003 to cancer & then my Dad in 2005 to ideopathicpulminaryfibrosis.
Very hard to deal with.... BUT I SURVIVED!

i have survived things that I would have never believed I could. I guess it's true, WHAT DOES'NT KILL US MAKES US STRONGER!!

It also makes us stop biting our toungue & SPEAK WHAT WE FEEL!
Life's short, do what you gotta do, say whatcha gotta say, be who you gotta be!
