getting a new dog.

mum expired. [EVERYONE]

I am looking at getting a new puppy but I am not sure of which breed i should get. I know border collies are good, really smart but full of energy. But also thinking about getting a Lab but I haven't been around labs all the much so really don't know much about them other then they seem like a good dog. So should i stick with what i know and get a collie or take a chance on a lab?
