What are you waiting for?

I know you may not think it is much, but $10, even $5 is getting us closer to our goal. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. I truly hope, that with the help of kind hearted folk, such as yourself, that we will be able to fulfill my husband's dream, in his memory and in his honor.
Thank you all.

I was married to a wonderful and hard working man for almost 18 years. His dream was to finally own a home. We were so close to it twice. The first time, he had been approved and was getting ready to sign the papers but was laid off 3 days later, so that house he had to back out of. When we moved again after he had been hired in at a job he had wanted for a while, we found the perfect house and we were in contact with the realtor. We had the down payment and were making plans on what we were going to do with the house...paint, decor, etc.
Less than two weeks after finding the house of our dreams, my husband was diagnosed with cancer. He was still on his probationary period at his job, so his insurance coverage hadn't kicked in yet, which meant we had to use the money we had saved for the down payment on the house. Between doctors visits and medication and having to pay monthly bills, our savings dwindled and were eventually gone.

The dream my husband had and what he had worked so hard for in order to give his family, me and our three children, was gone. He was heartbroken. He felt like he was a major disappointment to us, which we told him time and again he wasn't. We loved him no matter what. Still, it bothered him because this was something he wanted to do, not just for us but for himself. To finally own his own home.

On May 1, 2012, my husband lost his life. The cancer was just too much and was very aggressive. This left the kids and I empty.

My goal in life is to honor my husband by hopefully being able to fulfill his dream by finally buying his house. This is what I hope to do before the end of my days, which is why I'm looking for assistance in raising the money. He deserves to have this done for him. So many people in his family and in his life have turned their backs on him and have replaced him and forgotten him. This is not something that will be done by me or our children and this is one way that I can think of to continue with loving him and remembering him. To fulfill his dream of buying a home and providing a suitable roof over our heads and to have the home dedicated to him, in his honor. He may not be here with us physically any longer but he is still with us in our hearts and minds and it will be as much his home as it will be ours, if not more so.

Our children are in their teenage years but they will be with me for many more years.  Our oldest will be with me until the end of my days.  Due to unforseeable circumstances that happened to him when he was 3 years old, he will never be able to properly provide a suitable or safe place to live for himself so I look to pass the home down to him when my time has come to leave this earth.  That way I know that he will have a place to call home at all times.  My husband and I knew that he would be with us forever and this was our plan all along, to make sure we secured a place not just for us but for our oldest as well.
