Piratefrog's blog: "from the frog"

There comes a time in a persons life that they must take a long hard look at who they are. I have had to do this recently. I didn't like who I saw. It may be too late to correct the wrongs that have been said and done. While I will not take total blame for the current situation I played a major part in it. I have realized that after I was injured on the job and told I was permanently restricted to lifting no more then 50lbs, I sank into a state where I felt too sorry for myself to realize I was hurting the feelings of those around me. The reason I am putting this out on the web is my attempt to remove my hard shell and let the world know that if you keep your problems to yourself it doesn't make you strong or tuff. It will make you hurt and that hurt will be passed on to those around you. If you have someone who is willing to talk with you and help you through your issues then you r blessed. Jealousy and discontent will ruin a family, break hearts and shatter souls. If it is too late for me I ask that all those that read this please take a long hard look at how you treat those around you and how they treat you. Even if things appear to be OK it may not be the case. If you truly love the ones around you don't wallow in your own self pitty, work on your issues and don't wait till it's too late to change. One other thing I have to say, if your spouse does something small to try to make you happy, or even something that they normaly do, let them know how much you appreciate it. It will pay off in the long run. Even something as simple as coming home from work, let them know that you appreciate how hard they work. Well that's enough depressing revelations from a heart broken frog for now.

I finally got around to playing World of Warcraft, it is a curse and a blessing. I truly enjoy the game, though I have found this game truly addictive. I am normally a FPS type not RPG so this is a big change.

Well me mates it looks as though they be after your ol' capn'. I just received an email from my ISP stating I was in violation of the DMCA (digital millennium copyright act) and they had received notice of such violations. The darn thing is the files they said I was in violation of, are available from their respective companies websites for download. Neither of the two files are "cracked" they are the full legal version, if anything I should be getting a letter from these companies stating "thank you for sharing your bandwidth" instead of a letter from my ISP saying "if you continue to use P2P your service will be canceled". Now I decided to read the "terms of service" for my ISP and they clearly state that I may not use any P2P service. This is bullshit (pardon my greek) that want to cover their billion dollar ass and now I am in violation of my TOS by leeching and seeding Debian Linux which is free, open source. My ISP also states that I may not transmit any material that the average person would deem as inappropriate. So I guess if I made a blog or website stating that " (insert isp name here) sucks" they could say it is inappropriate and needed to be removed. Or possibly even the posting of a nude image of myself could be construed as a violation. It's time to take a stand against big business and open the doors to freedom of information and our rights as humans. Hell Apple pirated the "windowed graphical user interface" from Xerox, and Microsoft pirated it from Apple. Now they want to come after you for pirating from them for personal use not for profit. Just want to say that any cherries that have a partner/spouse that is a stay at home parent should give that person a big hug. Make sure to tell them how much you appreciate all they do. I have stayed at home for 3.5 years taking care of the kids. I work from home doing computer consulting/repair/web design so it works out. My wife is an EMT and at work more than she is home. And unfortunately when she is home she sleeps. So for the most part 24/7 I am DAD. So for those of you out there that take your S/O for granted (and I am mostly talking to the men because there are less of us that stay home) just remember what ol' pirate frog said and thank them. Be glad it is not you at home because it is nowhere as easy as you think it is. Anyone that has/does stay home I am sure will agree that it is no walk in the park. PIRATE FROG

OK since I am new around here and not everyone knows a lot about me, I believe in freedom. I don't think that someone should charge money (at least not too much money) for things like music, software, education. I have no problem with them charging too much for merchandise, or tickets. But .99 for a song that you can hear on the radio for free. I mean the radio station is paying for it but they make thier money from commercials. OK so now onto my reason for writing this today (I had to stop before I ranted for several pages) I play guitar, purely amature for my own enjoyment. I have not played in a while and decided to go online during a break I was taking from working today. So I did my search for the tabs I was looking for and a large portion of the sites I clicked on gave me a message that they have closed or are reorginizing due to thier ISP getting threatend by the RIAA and its alies to sue these ISP's for distributing tabs not "licensed". This is the biggest bullshit I have ever seen. I meen now we have to pay to play the music we like on our instruments. Fuck them its time to take a stand. You know I'd love to have a million dollar plus home, and 10 plus cars that cost 100 grand a peice. Not only will they sue you to "steal" the audio of their music, now they are trying to stop you from learning to play it as well. Support only bands that are against this kind of bullshit. Take the music they don't want you to have. When are they going to learn that they can't stop the freedom of expression and ideas. The RIAA and its amigo's are going to drive thier monopolistic industry right out of existance. FUCK THE RIAA MPAA PIRATEFROG OUT "HACK THE PLANET" great line
