Hi everyone! I'm Jon. I made a new and really special friend on here. She and I have had a couple of interesting chats, and the most recent one has really left me a little perplexed. I don't know her very well, but from what I do know about her, she is pretty sweet.
From our last little chat, we discussed relationships, good, bad, and otherwise. More specifically, we discussed kindness and consideration in a relationship. I asked her if the people she had been with had ever done anything nice for her for no reason and she replied NO! Needless to say, I was shocked.
I am wondering if you all out in Fubarland have ever been in a relationship with someone and you are the only one giving? I believe that relationships are a two-way street, and doing something nice for someone you say you care about doesn't require a nationally recognized holiday or even a birthday. I am not sure who gives more, or if that even matters! More importantly, if you give, shouldn't you also receive? I would love for people to share their experiences with me on this. I have always been the giver, and am relatively expressive about things with my mate. I think gifts of kindness like flowers and kind words or even a little extra lovin' need not be given only on special occassions!
Let me know what you think! :-) |
