The way I see it, almost every country in the world that matters doesn't really like the U.S. I don't understand why this is. Without us the rest of the world would probably fall apart because we aren't there to police them, buy there products or give them help in the time of crisis. I think if the next President really wanted to shock the world they should bring every member of our military back within our borders. That means all of our military bases around the world would shut down. This would criple the communities around the bases. All of these Soldiers could be deployed along our borders with Canada and Mexico. The rest of our Soldiers could be put into the airports as security. This would hinder the ability of terrorists and illegal aliens to cross our borders or get into our country. As for the oceans, we have a very large Naval fleet that can patrol our entire coast on both sides and the gulfs down below. This would stop the drug runners from bringing their stuff in via the water. It will also stop illegals and terroists from getting in our country this way. I also think that any country that imports anything into the U.S. should be required to either pay an extremely high tax or allow us to import the same amount of stuff into their country. We should also get rid of NAFTA. This was a huge mistake on the part of the previous 2 presidential administrations. George HW Bush for starting it and Bill Clinton for finishing it. Any American based company that outsources there work should either pay an extreme tax or bring the jobs back to the U.S. Although I no longer smoke weed I have a plan to legalize marijuana. The infrastucture is in place right now. We have growers, high end suppliers all the way down to the guy selling on the street. The government just has to require them to purchase a license to sell. The more pot you have the more your license will cost you. If you have under a quarter than you wouldn't need a license because that would be considered "personl use". Anything over that would require a license. Any one caught with more than a quarter and no license will face very stiff penalties. We wouldn't allow it to be sold in stores or have giant pot growing companies (like tabacco). They should keep it the way it's sold and moved around right now. Those who want it will know how to get it and those who don't won't have to see it. By doing this the government would reduce our national deficit dramatically, And reduce our prison populations. This in no way is meant to let other harder drugs(cocaine, heroin, etc..)become legal. These are just a few things I have been thinking about.
