Which one are you and which one would you prefer to be?
Let's talk about the different relationships with have with people. I think the lines tend to get blurred sometimes so let's clarify.
An acquaintance is someone that you talk to online or every once in a while when you run into each other, maybe a friend of a friend, but you don't really know each other or hang out.
A friend is someone that you know well that you hang out with if they are close enough or that you keep in touch with if they live far away. A friend is someone you trust with your deepest secrets and love with all your heart.
A friend with benefits is one of those people mentioned above that you sometimes have sex with but it is just that "sex". It means nothing and there are no strings attached.
A fuck buddy is someone that you call when you are extremely lonely and just want to get off. You really don't care about this person but you are physically attracted to them. You would never date them and probably don't talk to them on any other occasion.
A boyfriend/girlfriend is someone that you really are interested in. You only date this person and no one else. If you are going out with your friends you at least invite them to participate and call them at least once while you are out. This is the person that you truly care about. This is the one that you give up your fuck buddy and friend with benefits for. This person "makes love" to you instead of "fucking" you although that is nice sometimes too. This may not lead to a "serious" commitment that is for life, but it will last for a while.
Your soul mate. This is the person that comes along once in your life. The person that actually completes you. A soul mate is extremely hard to find and once you do, you don't want to let him go. This is the one person who can steal your heart and you will never get it back. If you mess this up and let this person go, you will never be able to have a healthy relationship again because you will not have a whole heart.
So think about the type of relationship you have with me. Who do you think you are in my life? Who do you want to be in my life? Trust me...I let people know where they stand with me. If you are my friend, you will always be my friend because you mean the world to me. If you are just an acquaintance but want to be a friend...we have some work to do. Love you all.
