Flutter By Butterfly

This past Sunday was Fathers Day here. Amanda went to a B day Party. So Mark & I took Alison to a place put by the airport called Butterfly Creek. Located on Tom Pearce Drive just one minute from Auckland International Airport, Butterfly Creek is Auckland`s hottest new attraction hosting Australasia`s premier Tropical Butterfly House with over 700 free flying exotic butterflies, tropical fish, birds and lizards. Butterfly Creek offers a great family day out in Auckland. With things to do for both children and parents, everyone will have a relaxing fun day. But before we went to Butterfly Creek we took a ride so Alison would sleep a little before we got there. Web took a ride around the bays on the way to the airport. The we went to the Airport watched the huge planes come in. We found a good spot no one knows it but you are right next to the runways. Alison was still sleeping so we sat drinking our diet cokes. The planes had a great day to land. They came in really smooth. We left and went to Butterfly Creek, woke Alison up she was ready to go rested and all full of energy. We go in to buy tickets and wouldn't ya know it was in the middle of the gift shop well Alison hands were on everything she could touch. We got our tickets and walk in first the had huge fish tanks down the narrow hall way to the butterfly house. there wasn't many there so we let her walk on her own. Picking her up to show her the fish. she'd look but then wanted down to walk. we go into the first door to see the butterflies and you're hit with a heatwave. Then into the second door through strip of plastic to get into the enclosure. Hit again with an even more humid heatwave. Once you get in it's awesome butterflies EVERYWHERE! Something to experience. Flowers everywhere too so pretty and quiet you could hear water rushing and just butterflies flying by. You feel the urge to touch them. I was afraid Alison would squash one but NO she's more concerned with the puddle of water on the ground and playing in it. We try to get her attention to the turtles in the water and the butterflies. Then she realizes she can run down the walk ways. So she starts doing her thing. after chasing her in 80humidity we decided to go look at the farm animals outside. You walk out and it's a wonderful feeling walking out into the colder air. We walk over to some baby chicks Alison finds sticks to carry LOL. She did notice the baby sheep showed her birds, rabbits & geaunipigs. We couldn't get the sticks away with out a fight. She also found the garden hose wonderful too. After that we decided to get a drink and have a seat well Alison had other ideas we spent it chasing after her he & I taking turns. You could just see people watching us and laughing at us chasing her around. One man said to Mark she's a busy little girl. By this time we headed out went to show Ali what we saw while she was sleeping she got a bit scared so we shuffled off got a bite to eat then picked up Amanda from her party. Got home around 7 pm i bathed Alison and by 8 she was fast a sleep. I hope all of you had a good weekend. The weather is finally broken getting warmer it's beautiful. take care..... cathie
